Building, sleeping within the walls where hundreds made their daily commute to work and back, survived decades of events and the gorgeous grade 2 listed building still stands.
Rooms, they were immaculate, clean and well kept.
Staff, friendly, helpful and gave a super warm welcome to some very tired folks at the end of their day exploring Durhams heritage.

We were given a room in the main building, which by the looks of it was where families are put to stay, we had our little dog who made himself very comfy for the night and we had a great night's sleep. The showers were hot, the service was great and our overall stay was perfect from start to end.

Travelodge Durham is conveniently located on a main road into town and within walking distance of the city centre and facilities. |The rooms are clean, well fitted and quiet. Staff are helpful and are knowledgeable regarding local facilities and locations.

An excellent small hotel in walking distance to Durham City, lots of free parking, extremely good rate, very helpful friendly staff, nice clean room and bathroom, I asked on arrival for a quiet room and the duty manager was very obliging. Very comfortable bed, altogether a great one night break!

Warm, clean, spacious room at a great price. Short walk into town that was doable in damp March & would be even easier in better weather. Free parking. Friendly staff. Lovely restaurant attached, Little Sicily. Ideal place to stay for a weekend/short stay in Durham that doesn't break the bank.

I would not stay again. Ceilings all stained and missing in corridor, no soap in dispenser, desk area marked in more than as n one place. The shower is the most pathetic shower I have ever experienced, it dribbles no actual flow to it. Floorboards in room, corridor and all rooms around creaky and can be heard within room. When checking out staff didn’t even speak.

RAT infestation. I saw 20-30 rats around the bins and carpark area each evening. The staff have reported the problem but head office are not responding. This is a serious Health & Safety issue for visitors and especially for the staff who have to empty the bins. The rats have dug nests in the carpark and retaining wall, and have young - it must have been going on for months - why have the head office not acted on the reports from the staff? The information sheet in the rooms should contain information on the danger of Weil's disease. The attached photos only show a fraction of the problem.

Typical Travelodge, nicely located on the edge of the city.
Staff were lovely, with a special shout out to Linda who couldn't do enough to help and went above and beyond in her role. Helpfully pointing out local attractions and places to eat.
Plenty of car parking for the stay, and free!

Great location for what we needed. Rooms quite warm though, no air conditioning. Clean rooms, though dated.
Staff friendly and plenty of access to tea/ coffee and milk.
