Gothic Image Tours isn’t really about checking off famous sites on your bucket list. It is more about being than it is about doing. There are countless examples of burial cairns, dolmans, ring forts, stone circles and other sacred sites throughout the British Isles, and Jamie George knows them all. He’ll make sure you get the experience of your life.
Gothic Image Tours is not about gathering information; anyone can do that with a simple online search. Gothic Image Tours is about having spiritual experiences. In Scotland last year and in Ireland and Wales in 2024, we visited sacred sites, as a small group, with plenty of time and atmosphere to attune to the energy of each place. If you want the slam-bam-thank you ma’am corporate experience, go with somebody else. But, if you want to start your day with a Tarot reading, and “find your peeps,” Gothic Image Tours is the place for you.

A wonderful well organised tour, thank you Jamie & Linda.
This tour was for me, in keeping with the spirit of the journey.
I liked that there was not too much talking about the sites when we arrived, as it gave me plenty of opportunities to open up and energetically engage with the site. Most of the sites were in the thin places, where the veils are thin between the worlds. I had some extraordinary experiences, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The story teller and musicians bought a unique understanding of Scottish Highlands history. Linda’s tarot readings gave meaning and focus to the trip which is nice as guidance.
Such a lovely group of people. A tour that will stay in my heart.
Thank you Jamie and Linda.

Sacred Scotland Tour - July 2024

As another reviewer said, if all you're interested in doing is checking sites off your bucket list than these tours may not be for you. But if you're able to trust the universe to put you in the exact places and with the exact people to help you move forward on your journey than I would strongly recommend booking with Gothic Image.

These tours are for your soul, not your logical, thinking mind. You're not going to be given an encyclopedic dissertation at every site. Instead Jamie will share a brief summary of what is known and then give you ample time to be with the site and with the land, time to absorb the energy and codes from each place.

The true beauty of the tours comes from those that you travel with. I spent ten days with some of the loveliest humans I have ever encountered. From my fellow travelers to the archeologists, musicians and storytellers engaged along the way, there was kindness and wisdom everywhere. The fact that Jamie and Linda attract such a group of people speaks volumes about who they are as humans themselves. I watched them lead with patience, kindness and compassion and came away with the deepest respect for both of them.

I had an incredibly beautiful experience in Scotland and I would happily book with Gothic Image Tours again.

The Sacred Scotland tour was a magical few days - Fairy Springs, Orkney stones, ancient sites and comfortable modern coach and accommodation. Also plenty of 'me time' to wander, dream and listen to the ancient voices.

absolutely the best tour of several i have taken. the guides were knowledgeable and fun, accomodations and meals were excellent. the extras were, well, really extra. from archeologists, musicians, experts on the local history to the new druid chief, from neolithic archaeological sites to medieval castles to fairy glen and everything in between, it was the trip of a lifetime. i very much hope to do more tours with them.

Review of Gothic Image Tours Enchanted Ireland (29 April – 8 May 2024)

This tour was not what it was billed to be nor was it what I expected. Overall it was a terrible disappointment. The tour hosts, Jamie and Linda, did not follow the the itinerary thus the tour was not what I paid for. I would describe the tour as a simple case of bait and switch. In addition to the downgrading of tour activities and the tour guide's gross errors, I missed out on the things I most wanted to see: St Brigid's Well and the Eternal Flame, New Grange and Knowth. There were planned tour stops that were just skipped over with little or no explanation and only rarely a substitution.
Additionally, there was very little explanation of Ireland's geography and even less information about Ireland's history. Ireland is known for their gods, goddesses and ancient spirits who are said to inhabit places in Ireland; they were not mentioned. When the tour literature says the pace is not rushed, read “Be prepared to sit or walk around and entertain yourself.” The Gothic Image approach of spending a good amount of time at each site and varying the itinerary to provide the best possible experience under the prevailing circumstances is a sham. The approach is, in my opinion, merely an excuse for poor planning, incompetence, and cutting expenses. I call this tour Disenchanted Ireland.

I was excited to sign up and and participate in the Enchanted Ireland 2024 tour. So many disappointments.

First, the positives. The boat trip to Skellig Islands, with the descriptions of the islands, monastery and birds delivered by the boat skipper; the ruins of ancient churches, Grange circle with the Druid ceremony, Hill of Tara, Fourknocks tomb, the accommodations, the scenery, and meeting wonderful fellow travelers and the friendly people of Ireland.

And the negatives – One arriving flight did not get in as scheduled, so our tour guide decided to wait for those late guests, then skip the stop at St Brigid's Holy Well, which was a “must see” on my part. The obvious solution is to have travelers come in a day prior to the start of the tour, book rooms at a hotel near Dublin Airport, then start the tour from that hotel. Our tour guide also decided to skip the Rock of Cashel and the stone ring fort Cathergal, insisting we would see other stone forts. We never did, even though we were told the tiny walls around the Beehive Huts constituted a stone fort. My internet search does not confirm this claim. We were supposed to have stayed in Dingle for two nights, where we could have enjoyed some night life of pubs and Irish music. That didn't happen. Were the hotels booked too late? Also skipped for no apparent reason and with no explanation were St Brendan's Oratory and the Keeler's Stone. At Kilmalkedar Cathedral, the entire group of us were made to climb over a stone wall to enter the grounds. Once inside, I noticed a gravel path through the cemetery out to the road. Our tour guide was apparently unaware of this path, although he claims to have been giving this tour since the mid 1980's.

The biggest disappointment, and one which was completely avoidable, came at Newgrange AND Knowth. Our group was scheduled for a 9:45 AM tour. Our guide began directing us to the shuttle bus stop a few minutes before 9:45, a 400 meter walk, thus we arrived late to the shuttle bus for our tour of Newgrange, and were told by the staff that we could not schedule another time, and were therefore not allowed to visit the site. Again, this was a highlight of this tour which I had eagerly awaited. I am sure that our guide had provided tours to this site on previous tours, so why did he not know that the 9:45 AM time meant BE AT THE BUS at 9:45? Our guide also told us that Knowth was closed for repairs, so we were not provided tickets for that site. However, a visit to the Newgrange and Knowth Facebook page has postings of photos at Knowth from April 27, May 4 and May 11. So was it in fact closed at the time of our visit on May 6th? I get the feeling that in truth, our guide failed to purchase tickets for us in time to visit Knowth. Again, Knowth was on my “must see” list.

Our guide demonstrated no local knowledge, and for the first week, made no comments as to where we were, the history, geology or mythology of the area in which we were traveling. Upon approaching the Hill of Tara, someone must have spoken up about his failure to provide any dialog, at which time he began reading text about the site from his mobile phone. There was no mention of several of the more mystical beings of Ireland such as the Sidhe or Tuatha De Danaan. The Sheela-Na-Gig were mentioned only in passing, although there were many Sheel-Na-Gig sites along our tour route, and even though our tour had been joined by a a local “expert” who had written books about the Sheela-Na-Gig.

All in all, there were so many opportunities to provide us with the trip we were expecting which went unfulfilled.

Having just completed Jamie & Linda's tour of sacred sites in Scotland I have to say I was very disappointed in the lack of cultural, historical & practical knowledge that was shared with us as a tour group. If you are looking for a Spiritual tour or even a Historical tour, this might not be for you. The rating is for the accommodation, meals & transport which were excellent.
