Lovely apartment with a sea view. Great location. I’ve been staying at this apartment once annually for the last 8 years, long before it was taken over by Shoreline. I was disappointed this time however as the cleanliness has slipped since it has been taken over. I had to remove the shower head to soak and scrub it as it was disgusting. The shower basin was dirty as was the tiled wall in the shower. Again had to clean it. Many of the glasses and cutlery had to be ran through the dishwasher before use due to marks and stains. The bed/mattress desperately needs to be replaced as it was the most uncomfortable nights sleep.

Although Shoreline did honour the price given I booked this before it was taken over, the new pricing in comparison to the previous owner’s pricing is just too much for a stay in Whitby. For 5-7 days in Whitby, I could book a week in Spain which is what I will be doing instead for 2026 even as much as I love Whitby.

I enjoyed my stay but Shoreline, you need to do better!

We stayed ten days at Orchard Cottage in Sleights. Great location just a couple of minutes walk to excellent bakers, butchers, fish & chip shop and a small general shop, but still really peaceful. We enjoyed the terrace at the rear of the house which had a lovely view of green hills. The cottage was surprisingly spacious, well decorated and equipped, and spotlessly clean.
Highly recommended.

Lovely old cottage with sympathetic tasteful interior improvements. Location first class and even during a wet and windy few days we had the views to look out on and then when going out everything is so close by. As a couple we were very comfortable and at home and had everything in the cottage we needed and it was all clean and tidy. We recommend the fish and chips at Trenchers and just a few steps beyond the Abbey to the brewery for a pint and a pizza - great place. The walking straight from the cottage on the coast path is beautiful. So why not 5 stars? Had we needed to use the attic bedroom the noise from the roof in windy conditions would not have made for a peaceful night and privacy is a little compromised. I understand the high energy costs but this meant that with all heating and light off on arrival it took us a while before achieving warm and cosy. Notice was given on which vehicle route to take, a wise move indeed, but I felt this should have been highlighted before booking. Also needing highlighting is the parking space, a real bonus of course, is very tight for large vehicles with risk to alloy wheels and access up and down the street when busy with pedestrians and delivery vehicles can require a deal of patience. In summary the advantages far out weight the minor inconveniences. Thank you.

We stayed at Chapel Cottage with our granddaughters. There was everything we needed for a comfortable home from home stay. The gardens are lovely and great for children. The girls loved playing in the summer house.Very comfy beds. The cottage is in a great location to get to local beaches and Whitby. We had a great stay.

We have stayed a couple of times in Whitby and Sandsend booked with shoreline.
Very easy to book with.
Communication via email and telephone.
House in Henrietta Street ever was lovely with a fabulous view of the harbour.
House in sandsend was overlooking the sea, we stayed in February and watched an amazing storm from the window.
Both were fab locations.

What a fantastic hidden gem up Henrietta Street. Each room had a wonderful view of Whitby and the place was absolutely immaculate. The decor has been furnished to a high spec and offers luxury and comfort in one. The space was well received with 8 of us sharing. 3 bathrooms, dishwasher, separate rooms downstairs is a must with a crowd.
The views from the living room are postcard worthy. First class accommodation and we will be back. Thank you.

We had a week in Kipper cottage, Whitby. we loved the garden which gave us a fabulous view of the sea and Whitby to the left. So much nicer to sit in a garden with a view, rather than just have the view from the window. Cottage was well equipped and furnished. I was a bit uneasy about the 2 back bedrooms which dont have windows,we didnt realise this until we got there. this is bit of a fire risk,as the hallway is very narrow and the bedrooms are behind the kitchen. but there are smoke alarms to protect the property.

We had a great first stay at Pike Cottage in Hinderwell and we will definitely return. The cottage is small and cosy, but perfectly formed! It’s really well equipped and spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed! Perfect location - in a quiet corner of the village, within a stone’s throw of the tea shop serving wonderful lunches and cakes, a pub serving good food, and a great fish and chip shop. Lovely walks from the doorstep onto the coastal path to Staithes, and the sandy beach at Runswick Bay. And having private parking is always a bonus, with the bus stop only 2 minutes away with the regular service into Sandsend, Whitby and beyond. Can’t wait to come back - thank you!
