Visited Peveril Castle and really enjoyed the experience. There is an entry fee to access the site and a car park nearby for convenience. The climb up to the top is steep along a concrete path but very doable even with children. The castle grounds are beautiful and well maintained with stunning views of the surrounding hills. Well worth a visit for the scenery and the history.

Very interesting castle. It's a bit of a climb to get there up a meandering hill, but there are plenty of benches to rest on, on the way up. Lots of info boards relating the history of the castle and also a star volunteer, Brian, who has a wealth of info. The views over Castleton and countryside are stunning. Well worth the climb.

Really cool Castle, well worth a trip and not too expensive to visit.

It isn't massive, but you get a stunning view of the Peak District and the buildings pretty well kept.

The walk upto it is very steep and pretty onerous on the legs, but plenty of spaces to stop for a rest.

The staff were really lovely too 😊

Be aware that there is no parking at this castle you need to park either in the town be warned that at weekends it is very busy so plan this into your visit or park on the street near the castle however it is near impossible due to how busy the town is ..also there are no toilet facilities they are also in the town near the tourist info building.

Perveril castle is perched on top of a hill in the peak district national park it is well worth the walk up( very steep) as the views from the top are fantastic and well worth the effort the keep is accessible via a spiral staircase case that takes you in on the 1st floor the ground floor is accessible from here via spiral stair case the upper floors are no longer accessible.

There is a small gift shop selling all the normal gifts associated with English heritage if you are a member you get in for free otherwise you will need to pay unsure of the cost as I am a member.

I took a point off for no toilet facilities and no mention on English heritage app that there was no parking.

Beautiful views from the castle ruins over looking castleton. Nice old homes in surrounding area with some quaint shops / cafes. Very steep up few switchbacks and steps. Few caves around although id give those a miss £21 to enter ridiculous.

Magical castle visit where you can really feel the history and what it may have been like when in use. Incredible views from all angles on the site. Afterwards you can walk through Cave Dale and look up at the castle to experience it from another angle. Castleton itself is also a beautiful place to explore.

Something different to do / see and the view once you reach the castle is lovely. Just beware of the steep climb / stairs to get to the Castle. This could be tricky if you struggle with mobility.
