Superb. The initial approach to the house is very impressive with the river in front and the surrounding countryside. The interior of the house is beautiful, it took around 90 minutes to walk though, lots of things to see. The audioguide was informative. The grounds are much bigger than I expected, great variety and extensively planted. There’s an outdoor cafe as you leave the house into the garden which had a good selection of sandwiches and pastries. There are ice cream and coffee caravans as well. A wonderful day out.

Beautiful house and grounds. I am a huge Jane Austen fan and wanted to visit here because Pride and prejudice was filmed here. It was fun to see the spaces where filming took place. I appreciated the audio tour that shared some interesting information about the rooms and decor. One critique would be the large artwork on stands in the foreground of rooms. This blocked some things in the rooms and I was more interested in seeing the rooms and decor rather than a highlighted piece of art. The grounds were my favorite part. It was wonderful to walk the grounds. We enjoyed the rock garden. It was disappointing that 2 of the water features were not working. Only the fountain in the pond was working.

Beautiful country house set in magnificent gardens with stunning views. Entry fee a bit expensive but worth the money. Definitely buy tickets for the house in advance to get a timed start of visit. The house is a bit confused. A mix of historic articles, furniture, painting etc and then some more modern items thrown in randomly. No description on paintings or interesting items do you have to ask the guides for info. Would be much better to separate the historic from the modern is separate rooms.

Lovely house and gardens, well worth the price when booking in advance.

The house has a variety of artworks and collections, and was pleasant to walk around - the gardens were definitely the highlight though. Beautifully presented and preserved, we really enjoyed exploring the rock gardens and maze.

Food in the cafe was expensive but good quality, and there are plenty of toilets on site.

You can easily spend a whole day here just exploring the vast gardens and grounds. House visit worth it if you like that sort of thing but would imagine children may find house bit boring. If walking around grounds where appropriate footwear as some steep Several places to get food and drink, prices as expected for this type of tourist spot.

Beautiful house with amazing grounds. Stunning views from the house and the gardens. The rocks and cascades are fantastic, the grapes and chillis in the greenhouse were very impressive. Well worth the money and very helpful guides.
