Stayed here for a long weekend with friends. Firstly the location is ideal. You are about a 10 minute flat walk into the centre of Hay on Wye to ideal for exploring the town getting supplies or eating out. The glamping tents are close to the river in a lovely secluded woodland. There is lots of space to roam and explore on the site and for kids to play or kick around a football etc. We were there to fish although there are only a couple of good spots at the property but there is more on club waters near the site. Tents are brilliantly equipped with own bathrooms and toilets and plates, cutlery kitchen utensils etc. very comfortable beds and bedding. Outdoor fire pits/ grills and seating with plenty of wood! There’s a cool box supplied also (which kept things cool for a weekend) so you have everything you need. Hosts incredibly friendly and helpful. My only slight picky bit was that the tents were a little dark inside but it wasn’t really an issue. Would definitely return and would 100% recommend. Will wonderful experience

We had a fantastic weekend at By The Wye. We were greeted upon our arrival and informed of all the things that the site offered including the local attractions that are worth visiting.

The accommodation was immaculate and the views were stunning.

The location couldn’t be any better, with a local village a short walk from the site.

I would love to come back and have been recommending By The Wye to all my friends and family

This is an amazing site run by a fabulous couple. From the start of the booking process they were open and clear that a festival on the other side of the river would be noisy and we chose to book anyway. The tents and the service were excellent and the location is exceptional, beautiful and close to town. We had The Ivy and Meadow which are ajoining by a walk way which was perfect for our group of 3. We had a fantastic time at Hay Literary Festival and were able to walk there each day with no need to take cars anywhere the whole time we were there. The other festival was noisy but the ear plugs supplied in the welcome basket helped a lot! The owners could not have been more helpful during our stay and ensuring we were happy and comfortable at all times. Will definitely go back.

We had an incredible weekend at By The Wye in April 2025 for a group holiday with a mixture of family and friends!

Right from the start when we were booking the trip the staff were responsive and helpful, and when we arrived we were all blown away by how amazing the site is. It's wonderful to be able to stay somewhere so peaceful and connected to nature, yet still just a 5-minute walk into town. The cabins were comfortable and had everything we needed, with spotless modern bathrooms and snuggly warm beds. The log burners were a big hit, especially after a dip in the river!

We had the most incredible stay at this glamping site. Staying in the treehouses was such a special experience — waking up to those amazing views every morning was just magical. Everything was spotlessly clean and so well looked after, and the staff honestly couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. We felt so welcome from the moment we arrived. We’ll definitely be going back — can’t recommend it enough!

This was a completely idyllic week, the treehouse is true glamping. Stunning location and everything we needed within the tent, including the most comfortable beanbags to relax in whilst watching the world go by on the river. The whole tent is beautifully crafted, with attention to detail. And we had a fire pit for pizzas, and a wood burner inside. Steve and Dawn were the perfect hosts. Would highly recommend staying here, the location is great to explore Hay-on-Wye whilst still feeling like we were in our own little bit of nature.

We stayed in Holly for two nights and had an amazing time! The kids absolutely loved it – from the fire pit where we cooked pizzas on the first night and had a BBQ on the second, to the cosy wood-burning stove that kept the tent warm overnight. Set back among the treetops with stunning views of the river, it was the perfect escape.

The outdoor bath and shower were a real hit with the kids too!

It's a perfect location for a walk into Hay-on-Wye or a day out canoeing on the river. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life – no internet or TV, and it was absolute bliss.

Amazing safari lodge in a beautiful location. We would love to return one day. Steve and Dawn were extremely helpful and friendly. If you would like a glamping holiday with beautiful views of the River Wye and otters, birdlife including herons and egrets and the serene sound of the river, this is the place for you!
