Fantastic holiday with Undiscovered Balkans. We did the Northen Albania Activity holiday and would highly recommend it. We were a party of 6 with 2 adults, 3 teenagers and a 10 year old. All the activities were really good fun and well organised and nothing was too much trouble for our guide - Aldo who really made the trip. The scenery was amazing and the accommodation/ food was perfect.
This is our second holiday with Undiscovered Balkans and we would love to do another one.

What an amazing trip - had a fabulous time - highly recommend! As a family of 4 (with 2 adult children - one of whom has some physical limitations ) we wanted an active holiday that would suit us all - and this ticked all the boxes.

Stunning scenery, safe well supervised activities, delicious local food and clean well appointed accommodation throughout the trip!

We were expertly guided and looked after by our guide Aldo who is extremely knowledgable about Albania and its culture, history and geography - and couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive to our needs. Always willing to go the extra mile to make sure our holiday went smoothly.

Albania is a lovely country with warm and friendly people. If you’re looking to explore new places whilst respecting nature and observing responsible tourism - don’t hesitate! Susan

Serbia 7 Day Multi Activity Holiday - An absolutely unforgettable trip!
As a solo traveller, this trip offered me a backpacking experience with the safety net of guides and fellow travel buddies. And actually, had I travelled there completely solo, I wouldn't have seen half of the stuff I did on this trip. Aleks and Philomena were exceptional hosts and their passion for Serbia is infectious. They are extremely knowledgeable about Serbia, its people, culture, nature and geography and if it wasn't for them and their connections, I wouldn't have had the privilege of getting to know the lovely local people we visited and stayed with. The accommodation is basic in the mountains but always clean, comfortable and traditional (think kitsch wooden huts with log fires and undisturbed Alpine views for miles). One thing's for sure - you won't go hungry! Seriously, bring your appetite! Dietary requirements are not an issue and our hosts couldn't do enough to make sure I was equally as full to the brim (I'm lactose intolerant) as my fellow travellers.
Thank-you so much Undiscovered Balkans, Aleks & Philomena, and all of the gorgeous locals who made this trip a magical experience!

Just back from an incredible week in Serbia with Undiscovered Balkans.
I've been on a couple of trips with this company and they never fail in exceeding my expectations. I had no idea that such incredible places existed just a couple of hours away from the UK. Incredible scenery and opportunities for adventures - kayaking, canyoning, hiking - in water and on land.
Undiscovered Balkans excel at taking you beyond the tourist trail and into the heart of the country and embed you into the culture. Mixing with the incredibly hospitable locals who welcomed us with open arms (lots of food and obligatory shots of rakia) into their homes! All dietary requirements are catered for - you definitely won't go hungry on this trip.

Aleks and Philomena are wondeful guides who care passionately about providing exceptional service and sharing their love of this fascinating country with you.

I confidently brought a friend who has never been on an activities holiday before knowing she'd be in safe hands stepping out of her comfort zone and trying new things - she loved it and we'll soon be planning our next trip!

We had an amazing two week holiday with Undiscovered Balkans. One week in Bosnia, then one week in Serbia. We saw glorious scenery, ate amazing food, met wonderful people, and enjoyed heaps of different outdoor activities. We would go back in a heartbeat. Many thanks to all our amazing guides for going above and beyond!

Albania was such a glorious surprise. The mountains were stunning, the weather was crazy, the people friendly and the food local and fresh. We did a few activities guided by our friendly guide, Arben, who shared his knowledge, stories and theories over our 3 days. We started in Theth Valley, a lush garden with waterfalls blocked in by the surrounding mountains; we hiked up the Valbona Pass to a 1800m break in the range with panoramic views and headed down into the Valbona valley. The ferry ride from Fierze up Komani lake to the dam was relaxing with a canyon backdrop most of the way. What we thought was going to be SUP turned into kayak-SUP through the rushes and water lillies of Shkodra Lake near Shiroka with a relaxing beer as we floating down river to Rozafa Castle! There is so much more to see, and we'll definitely be back to explore some more of the region - with Arben as our guide :0)

One of the best things about our 2023 holiday in Montenegro with Undiscovered Montenegro (and there were many great things!) was that our group included other children with whom our son, Joe, could bond and do the adventure activities. We hoped to replicate this experience for him this year. We mentioned this when booking our week in Croatia, so were a little concerned when, upon arrival, we found that there were no other guests booked for that week.

Despite this, we had the most incredible experience in Ston, Croatia, thanks to our exceptional travel guide, Robi and the charming landscape and islands of Southern Dalmatia. From the moment we arrived, Robi went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our trip was tailored to our needs and desires - going so far as to invite his son on some activities so that Joe had some company.

Robi's attention to detail and ability to adapt the itinerary to suit our preferences truly made this holiday unforgettable. As a guide, Robi added little 'extras' to the day's activities, such as oyster tasting after a day snorkelling and exploring a lake by kayak, meant that this holiday will live long in our memories.

Robi flawlessly organised a mix of activities including kayaking, swimming, cycling, wine tasing and boat trips. What really stood out was his attentiveness to our preferences and abilities. Whether it was adjusting the kayaking route to explore more secluded spots, finding the perfect swimming coves, or creating cycling paths that matched our energy levels, he was constantly adapting the plan to maximise our enjoyment.

Not only were the activities well-organised, but Robi was also extremely knowledgeable about the local culture and history, making each excursion both adventurous and educational. He taught us many 'fun facts' that I will try and retain (for example, why we use carats when measuring the purity of gold). We never felt rushed, and he was always checking in to ensure that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. His passion for sharing the beauty of Ston and its surrounding areas made us feel less like tourists and more like welcomed guests.

In addition, his flexibility allowed us to experience the best of both adventure and relaxation. On the final day, he surprised us with a private boat trip to a number of islands and beach coves, where we enjoyed snorkelling in crystal clear waters and a simple lunch. It was these thoughtful touches that exceeded our expectations at every turn.

We loved the unspoilt and relatively quiet Ston and especially enjoyed our day trip to the nearby, beautiful island of Mljet. The accommodation in Ston was also perfect for us. If you are looking for a truly personalised travel experience in Croatia, I can't recommend Robi and Undiscovered Balkans highly enough. His ability to tailor a holiday to fit your desires, combined with his genuine nature and care for his guests, makes him standout. This was a great trip and we have our guide to thank for it!

Kayaking on the Drina, sitting above soaring Griffon Vultures on a secret natural viewing point and being humbled by Serbian hospitality was just a few of my highlights of this trip. The warmth of everyone we met combined with vast views, makes this trip in Serbia a true Balkan adventure.
