Absolutely Outstanding Stay!

I cannot recommend the Beaumond Cross Inn highly enough! From the moment we arrived, Paul and his family went above and beyond to make our stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Their hospitality is second to none—genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming.

The breakfast was a real highlight—catering to every taste and dietary need, with a fantastic variety of options. Honestly, it was the tastiest breakfast I’ve had in a very long time! And the food offered throughout the day is just as impressive—delicious, well-presented, and clearly made with care.

The Inn itself is charming and comfortable, with a lovely, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're passing through or staying for a few days, this is without question a fantastic place to stay in Newark. Thank you again to Paul and his family for such a memorable experience!

We pre-booked a meal in the restaurant before going to the Theatre. Good location for the Theatre as it’s only six minutes walk away. It was a particularly hot evening and we found the restaurant to be far too warm to be comfortable as there was no air flow. We opted to look outside and sat on one of the benches in the car park area. We admired the array of 30 plus very attractive hanging baskets placed all around the area of the car park. The menu was very extensive with lots of choice all or most of which was freshly Home made. The cod with vegetables and chips was a little bland although I opted for the lamb mint pie with mint sauce gravy, which I felt was excellent. The treacle sponge with ice cream was shared between the two of us and it was very good with one portion certainly enough for the two of us. Overall, the food was quite good and nice to see homemade food. However, the main reason for the score is due to the price. The price of 75 pounds for two light drinks (tonic water and a soda water) with two main courses, and one shared sweet is too much. 10% service charge was automatically added to the bill which made the single sweet almost £14. Overall good quality food but far too expensive for the standard of the venue

Such a lovely family run business by friendly people who take pride in their work. I go away a lot on business and this was a really happy stay for me, I couldn’t fault anything. Wonderful room and facilities. All meals were amazingly delicious, I’m not a foodie at all but was absolutely wowed by the quality and consistency of cooking and presentation. All meals are homemade with locally sourced ingredients, event the milk! Immediately booked to go back in 3 weeks time. Recommending everyone who’ll listen to travel to Newark to stay here!

Excellent. Very clean and attractively decorated to a high standard two bedroomed cottage with effective double glazing 1 bedroom facing street. Good situation to walk to river/around town. We had a very good dinner and one morning we had a variety of the cooked breakfast and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. A delightful place to stay

I stayed for one night, on a Saturday, and was accommodated in the Cottage at No 17. It was immaculate, the bathroom superb, with a splendid shower and gorgeous free standing bath. Two bedrooms , one with two single beds, the other with a huge double, were more than I needed, but both excellent. Bedlinen was beautifully crisp and comfortable. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was freshly prepared and delicious. I felt really welcome, and enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Plus it is brilliantly placed for access to the town centre, and has excellent parking, what is not to like?

We stopped here for one night, needing a break for a long journey. What a delightful place.🥰. The decor is homely and at the same time classy. The room and bedding were great too. Service, from this family owned and run hotel is perfect. Breakfast was wonderful. Thanks so much

Our second stay at this fine establishment, we had the same room (#9) at the very top. It was 100% satisfactory, clean private and well appointed. The food was excellent, the proportions GENEROUS to the point that we could not fit in a desert, much as we would have liked to, as they would have been (I am sure) as delicious as the VERY FRESH FISH home cooked fare that both me and my wife enjoyed greatly. The location was very handy to our reason to visit Newark ("Runway Monday" antique fair) so sadly we only got to stay for the 1 night (As previously) but we will not be looking elsewhere for our accommodation for the next "Runway Monday" antique fair. Quaint small town hospitality with very personable and helpful service which we both VASTLY PREFERRED to chain hotels. MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for accommodation, GREAT food, EXCELLENT service and convenient location RATES 10 out of 10
