Well kept grounds. Castle is exactly as expected because what you saw on the screen IS real. Great to see so many of the rooms and help support maintaining an important part of history. Staff are engaging and most have personal ties and grew up with a connection to Highclere and the family. Worth the visit on all fronts.

My wife wanted to visit here, the home where Downton Abbey was filmed. It is so worth it. Beautiful and charming. Great gardens, friendly people and lots of nostalgia.
What’s nicest is the place feels like a home because I believe people still live there also. It doesn’t feel like a museum.

Downton Abbey fans will absolutely love seeing this castle, as well as any who enjoy history. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take pictures inside, but there is a guide book you can purchase if that matters to you. The interior rooms are beautiful and the grounds are striking. I highly recommend visiting.

Amazing day out. Beautiful house and grounds, home of Downton Abbey. Staff on the tour know there stuff, Egyptian exhibit was fascinating. Loved every second of it.

Really nice place to visit. The tour of the house is interesting and not too long. Best to book tickets in advance though if you get there before 9am you can buy tickets on the day before everyone else arrives. This is a good way of avoiding the massive queues which start around 10am.

If you are a Downton Abbey fan it’s fantastic, if not it’s another stately home. Some interesting personal photos on display and Christmas cards from the late queen. Lovely gardens and worth a good look around as they are a short walk from the house. Gift shop was busy with a number of USA tourists and prices were fair.

As a Downton Abby fan I was truly excited to see the castle grounds and the gardens. Highclere did not dissapoint it was a magical experience and a lovely day out.
The tour was very detailed with the history of the castle and the Carnarvon family. The Egyptian Exhibition is worth a visit with all the history.
The afternoon tea is a must! Sandwiches very dense and filling along with the cakes and scones!
A spectacular day out. The drive out was the best seeing all of the grounds.

A great trip for fans of the series or those looking to enjoy the English countryside. The tour is very informative and gives access to a majority of the castle and grounds. A very pleasant day or afternoon trip!
