Very interesting, but at same time shocking- the amount of loss of lives, and not just active members of the paramilitaries, but young children and even babies have been killed by bombs and stray bullets. Very sad to read all this.
Highly recommend this as part of a day out. Take the time to listen to all the history. And I’ve taken a lot of photos to read back through it all again. I have posted all these photos in my review.

A real insightful tour, and a must do whilst in Belfast. Unfortunately for us due to the snow our flight from London was heavily delayed and we were worried that we would miss out on our pre booked tour. We immediately reached out to John, who was quick to respond and really accommodating, managing to squeeze us in during our trip. Massive thank you John, for your honest, insightful and interesting tour. We certainly left with much food for thought- exactly what you said we would!

I had the pleasure of being guided by Jim, and he was a wealth of knowledge. As a solo traveler, I was grateful to be able to ask all the questions I wanted. I was a bit worried about the accent since I’m from the US, but he spoke slowly for me and his stories and explanations gave me a really helpful understanding of The Troubles and life in Belfast today.

I believe this tour was likely the most authentic, informative, heartfelt experience one could possibly have - without actually living through these times in Ireland. John provided both sides of the story. It felt balanced. He explained many details about the murals and their origin; one would not be able to discern - without his guidance. We were able to get out of his car to see things. It was never rushed. This tour remains a highlight of even all our previous visits to Ireland. One goes on this tour because you enjoy history and you want to understand.

We prearranged to meet John by email from Canada for our tour before visiting Belfast by cruise ship. He met us exactly as promised just outside the cruise terminal. He would have used our Whatsapp number but I provided him with our local mobile phone number and he called us on the day of the tour to confirm final details. Our highest recommendation.

This is a must do if you're visiting Belfast. John is an absolute gem of a tour guide, the knowledge he has along with his story telling ability is outstanding.
I would come back to Belfast just to do the tour again.
Cannot recommend John enough, and the value for the tour was great too. If you're doing a black cab tour is must be this one.

Excellent tour,I would highly recommend it.My boyfriend and I decided to do the tour on the last day of our stay in Belfast.And we are so glad we did!! John was very informative helpful and interesting.He showed us all around and kept us intrigued with the history and also his own personal experience in all that went on.He even dropped us to where our car was on the way back.! The tour lasted over 2 hours and it was a great price.John is a gentleman, extremely knowledgeable,and helped us understand and learn a lot we didn't know.it really made our trip 😊
