We had our wedding mid April, I cannot recommend Breckenhill enough!! We wanted a relaxed, informal wedding day, with the ability to tailor our day exactly as we wanted. Breckenhill was the first place we visited and we knew right away it was for us! David and Henrietta were amazing from the get go, especially on the run up to the day nothing was too much to ask. A small team of close friends and family were allowed to come a couple of days pre-wedding to set up with the help of David and Henrietta and it made the day all the more special being able to personalise it. Highlight for guests was the archery and the selection of other outdoor games, and of course the BYOB! Bar set up was fantastic. Grounds were absolutely stunning for photos. Can't rate this venue enough! Thanks again so much guys for the best day ever 🙂 Hannah & Mark

Attended a wedding here in May 2025 and we had a wonderful thoroughly enjoyable day. The staff were friendly, gracious and accommodating, the bbq provided by the outside caterers from Larne was probably the best bbq I have eaten in years - generous in quantity and quality was 2nd to none. We were blessed with fabulous weather and the grounds were clean and stunning in the sunshine. Plenty of parking and a choice of outdoor activities - croquet, archery and bouncy castle.

Had a great morning with David and Jo and their amazing birds of prey on a hawks walk falconry experience. It was fabulous to hear the stories of the birds with some rescued and others they’ve had since they were 10 days old. Truly amazing and beautiful animals, all with different characters. Breckenhill is naturally off the beaten track but it’s a beautiful spot for outdoor activities. Plenty of parking too. Highly recommended. The few phone snaps don’t do the experience justice

Unfortunately google won't let me right the lengthy detail of our experience. So here it is in as little detail as possible.

We had our wedding at Breckenhill. The venue is stunning and the staff during the day were lovely. Many guests told us they had a wonderful day. However, we encountered several significant issues.
Booking and Payment: Getting the invoice correct took three attempts. If we hadn’t scrutinized it, we would have been overcharged twice.
Set-Up Issues: We changed our wedding date to have a full day for setup. However, just days before the wedding, we were told we couldn't start setting up until 4:30 PM due to other activities. When we arrived at 3:30 PM, Henrietta, who was setting up lights, made a snide comment about our timing.
We discovered the venue was set up with 1 table width rows instead of the 2 table width rows we had requested weeks prior. This disrupted our vision for the room. Additionally, Henrietta rearranged chairs we had set up, dismissing our preferences.
Communication and Assistance: Henrietta was inconsistent with instructions. She initially pulled tables herself, but when we did the same, she reprimanded us. Access promised for moving music equipment was denied on the day of setup, adding unnecessary hassle.
We were told we could access decorations but were denied entry when we arrived. Henrietta also contacted our suppliers without consulting us, demanding more staff and costs, despite prior agreements. Her response to our budget concerns was dismissive and rude.
Wedding Day: On the wedding day, a miscommunication led to children entering an off-limits area. They were yelled at, and my mother was shouted at by David, causing distress among our guests.
Henrietta made disparaging comments about our choice of shortbread maker and was rude to our vendor during his pre-visit.
Post-Wedding: The morning after, Henrietta insisted we dispose of foam light-up batons ourselves, claiming they would be banned, despite no prior notice of such restrictions.
Conclusion: While the venue is beautiful and the staff during the wedding were great, the planning and setup process were marred by unprofessionalism and rudeness from the management. Our wedding day was amazing thanks to our planning, our guests, and our vendors, not Breckenhill. We cannot recommend this venue due to how we were treated leading up to the event.

We had our wedding at Breckenhill. Everything was fine during our time there. Henrietta and Eddie were helpful at all times, they helped us preparing the weeding and the decoration. The place is really beautiful and well maintained. The only reason we don't give them 5 stars it's because we expected to finish at 11:00PM however we finished at 12:00AM and we were charged 2,5 hours overtime instead of 1 hour. Overall, we'd recommend this place.

Beautiful location for the wedding we attended.

Weather didn't play ball but there are plenty of inside areas to socialise.

Gluten free options for my coeliac wife were excellent and we had no worries with the care taken to avoid any cross contamination.

Staff helpful however stayed very unobtrusive leaving the wedding party to enjoy their family and friends.
