Lovely big room, great freshly cooked breakfast, ample parking. This was a former hotel and bar/restaurant. It now simply offers reasonably priced, comfortable accommodation. We had gone to Bath races but it was very expensive to stay in Bath, due to Robbie Williams playing. This lovely village offered reasonably close accommodation with a couple of good bar/restaurants very close. Chris, the general manager, ensured he was on site to greet us and to say farewell. Very friendly. Would recommend.

I was attending Christian gathering at Charlton Park and needed 3 nights while my daughter camped. Chris and the team really looked after me and at £70 including a lovely breakfast I got a quiet clean room with a very comfy single bed and a super breakfast every day. I booked direct. |It is literally a place to sleep and eat breakfast as it chooses to offer nothing more. |Lots of parking and a lovely village drivable to lots of places. |My room was cleaned, tidied and replenished every day,|Not it’s not in perfect repair as it’s a very old building but it gave me a lovely nights sleep and I would stay again.

stayed one night on 07.08.24. 2x people, 2x rooms. Clean 10/10. Ambience 10/10. Friendliness 10/10. Comfort 10/10. Beautiful rooms, view across to 500 year old church from the bedroom window. Large free car park as part of the hotel. And the breakfast was honestly the best breakfast i ever had in a hotel setting, 12/10 for that. Highly recommended place to stay by us.

Stayed a night on business, Chris the owner was very friendly and we had a good chat about the old building and works planned. Yes it’s a old hotel but has character unlike so many modern box hotels. He was very welcoming and also provide a excellent take away lunch the next day as I had to leave before breakfast. I would recommend and stay again. I wish him all the best for the future and his plans and hope planning gets granted. So nice he doesn’t just want to pull it down!

We stayed a night here during a short trip to the west country. Chris keeps a very nice and clean place. The rooms were very charming, we got a double at the front of the building. The bathroom tub was wonderful for a nice warm bath and the bed was very comfortable and warm. The kids stayed in a twin room which was very nice as well. The full English breakfast in the morning was great and everyone left full and ready for the day. We inquired about a sack lunch as well, but chose to do lunch out the next

Spent a night at the Bell when I was attending a prog rock gig (Franck Carducci) at Rods place in the old rectory. Simple, straight forward accommodation, no bells and whistles (excuse the pun) but clean and comfortable room and facilities. Breakfast was outstanding (and free if you book directly with the hotel).|Looking forward to my next visit.

We enjoyed a really nice stay last weekend. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet with ample room for us and our two children. We highly recommend the delicious breakfast. We were made to feel really welcome by the staff, particularly Chris (who spoilt the kids with chocolates and other treat) and Hollie the waitress. Its a shame the visit was so brief but we look forward to returning next time we visit the UK.

Great little place tucked away but close enough to the M4 for customers to make the effort.
We only found the place by chance on a long drive back from Cornwall with a side trip to Caerphilly and we were starving. We got lucky and had a great burger and met some lovely staff members. Good service. If it was closer to home we'd come again for Sunday lunch but if passing we'll definitely pop in again.
