I was charged a £50 out of hours fee despite being assured I would not be; I was served by Matt. Outcome of my complaint to Europcar is a denial that the following events happened and a referral to the terms and conditions of rental.

I was due to pick up my vehicle at 12.30pm with the branch 'closing' at 1pm. I was delayed due to my train running late. I tried calling Europcar 4 times from 11-12.30pm with no response. I eventually received a phone call at 12.57pm asking if I would still be collecting the car. I said yes, and was told that was fine and 'no problem at all'.

I arrived at Europcar at 1.02pm. I asked Matt explicitly if I was still in-hours or if there was to be any extra fee. He said no, no extra free. When I dropped off the car, Matt again explicitly said "all good, no other charges to your booking". I was then invoiced an additional £50 for late collection, despite assurances I wouldn't be.

Matteus was exceptional. Brilliant customer service. Thorough but fast with the checks. He explained features of the car I was unfamiliar with and made sure I was completely happy. The return process was equally as efficient. Matteus is an excellent ambassador for Europcar.

Wouldn’t recommend. Gave back a van nearly two hours late and was in dispute for two weeks as they charged a further three days instead… had to contact CEO to sort it out… couldn’t speak to the chap on the phone I signed the documents with - very stressful. Then I found Adam’s Self Drive - what a difference. Thoroughly recommend if you don’t really like large , impersonal organisations

Quick and easy process renting here especially at last minute. Nice range of cars to choose from at reasonable price and they are in good condition. Extending the rental time is also simple and the Peterborough team is so friendly.

Motability use Europcar but they are absolutely useless! First they didn’t have a car available so I had to hire a car elsewhere to go on holiday. Now back from holiday and I’ve been told it will be delivered today at 8am then when it hadn’t arrived the time was changed to 11.30. Still not arrived and the branch closes in 15 minutes. Useless

Needed van to move things around and picked shop closest to me. It worked very well the van was in great condition and I achieved my task. Booking done online saves a little time and money. Picking up and dropping off was easy and smooth process will consider again if future.
