Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre - Mansfield

Had a lovely day at Sherwood forest. The visitor centre has gifts etc upstairs,downstairs you can buy something to eat and a drink. Toilets are also downstairs. There's a lift for prams wheelchairs etc. There's a playground for the kids and loads of little shops, an art centre etc opposite the centre. Some of the shops are shut on Monday and Fridays which we didn't know about till we got there but there were a couple open. There's also a tattooist on site I would phone up about appointments first. Parking is £6 for 24 hours in the carpark. The car park is on the opposite side of the road from the site.

Helpful welcoming member of staff RSPB gave us a helpful chat about the place .Parking £6.20 for the day . Historic forest with its magnificent trees and links to History. Being keen hikers we did the longest trail very peaceful hardly saw another person. .no gradients, easy walk .we used the cafe .limited choice . Amenities clean and tidy .it's all about the trees though beautiful

Visited for the first time in a number of years and was disappointed to find the old visitor centre was no longer there. It used to have the feel of a village with a lovely walk through story of Robin Hood. The walk itself was still really good and our grandson loved the den building area and playground. Just felt it had been commercialised and lost its old character.

Lovely forest with lots of little trails. Dog friendly. Completely wheelchair accessible and parking is only £6. Absolutely beautiful views. Visited to get back to nature and was not disappointed. Staff were all so friendly as well and they have a lovely visitors center.

Lovely centre for going into the forest. The cafe was nice. The shop was lovely after too. My only criticism is that there was a lot of Robin Hood items for sale and apart from a kids costume and a teddy there was nothing of Maid Marion, my daughter was so disappointed not to get a nice gift of her. Of course the oak tree was an incredible sight and the whole place felt magical. The place where the legend of Robin Hood was born and that made it feel so much more exciting than any other forest, I could almost feel the legends around me.

We came to the Gathering Of The North at Sherwood Forest. We had a great time. Fantastic atmosphere, plenty of entertainment, food, ale and even mead! Top day out, highly recommended. Well done Fireside Events!!

I hadn’t been here for quite a long time and was surprised that the old visitor centre had a new building at the Edwinstowe end.

The new visitor centre is brilliant, much more space, an amazing cafe, shop, and extremely helpful staff.

Walks are much easier than historically and it’s situated next to the craft market centre,

The playground is amazing for kids 🙂

They also have regular events which are always great, and a den building area which is the most underrated part of the centre.

Really pretty place. Food and parking on site . Picnic areas . £6 for all day parking. Lively day if walking.
