Can’t recommend this riding stables enough! Brilliant for both experienced and non experienced riders. The views on the moors were absolutely gorgeous, the horses were all lovely and obviously well looked after. Our guides (I think their names were Casey and Kelsey?) were so friendly and helpful, if you didn’t have the right shoes, slacks or coats it was all provided along with the helmets. It was well worth what we paid and I will definitely be back to this stables on my next Devon holiday

Scenic place to go horse riding. Staff were brilliant for daughters' first time riding. Deaf aware too. Highly recommend if in Dartmoor/Exeter/Cornwall area.

Had a stunning ride at Cholwell today, i am a total novice and they were so kind, and took time to teach me to feel confident on a horse! I even managed a trot! Highly reccomend for beginners and more experienced riders! Everyone loves the horses and loves working there! Thank you Cholwell ❤️ we will definately be back!

I cannot recommend this stables highly enough. They provided horses for my son in law (who has never ridden before), my daughter (who rode as a child but is quite scared of horses), my three grandchildren, two who can walk and trot but are both a bit anxious and, last but not least my horse mad granddaughter who needed a lot of tuition on technique but rode 4 times in one week and improved out of all recognition.
All had a fabulous time and were given horses that they felt comfortable with.
The horses were beautifully kept with plenty of staff, all so helpful and friendly.
Particular thanks to Donna for spending the time with Lily so she could go cantering across the moors safely on the 2 hour ride.
We will be back!

Well run stables with plenty of staff - all really friendly and genuinely seemed to want to know if you'd had a good time. I grew up with horses but hadn't ridden in nearly 20 years, my 13 year old son has ridden a little but rusty. We had a lovely ride across the moors, I was taken off for a lovely canter whilst he trotted. We both had gorgeous horses, and we were well looked after. Other people in different groups were of mixed riding ability and mixed age, all seem to enjoy themselves. Will definitely ride here again when we're back in Dartmoor for next year's holiday.

We booked a ride here while on holiday for myself and 2 girls 10 & 11 yrs. We have horses so wanted a fast ride, not for beginners. Paige who took us out was amazing and gave us an amazing ride on Oreo, Tavy and Ziggy. Excellent value for money. They had other rides going out for beginners and everything in-between so cater for everyone. Loved this place and we'll be going again when we're down this way. Thank you 😊
