Surprisingly good liqueur and there is a nice cafe/shop inside. This new establishment built in 2022 has a unique name based on local history: Jan de Groot (the ferryman of which John O’Groats is named after) had seven sons, and disputes arose among them over who should sit at the head of the table. Susan was so friendly and very knowledgeable. We learnt so much and really enjoyed the personal touches. Loved hearing about how the distillery came about and history of the area, along with meeting the owner and other employees. Whisky isn't usually my tipple (more my husbands) but I genuinely enjoyed tasting them. We would definitely recommend the tour!!

Amazing tour and amazing upcoming distillery!!
Yes, they're just about to release their single malt. However, their distillers have blended some really captivating whiskies. A few friends loved their Seven Sons line of blended malt whiskies, and they were speechless on how much flavour was in these.

Also, if you want a nice walk after a tour, the Duncansby stacks are a 5-minute drive away.

Great coffee ☕️ a selection of cakes & snacks available to enjoy in this tastefully designed comfortable seating/lounge area with a large window affording a super view out to the Pentland Firth & beyond to Orkney. In house products available for purchase & various tours of the Distillery run throughout the day. Very pleasant staff. There is a disabled access ramp at the front of the building.

I adored this place. The staff were great, the drinks were great, gluten-free brownies were a nice bonus. Definitely visit if you're in the area, it's right on the John o groats car park. We bought whiskey, coffee, cake, and a bottle of 5 ways liqueur which everyone loved. The staff will give you samples and help with choices too, I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

We were in a hurry to catch our bus and ordered an espresso and an iced latte to go.
The barista made fun of us to his colleague for ordering an "espresso to go" and handed me an utterly overextracted, bitter espresso. Very short and unpleasant experience...

A really friendly and warm welcome!
We took some 8 Doors merchandising goods with us.
Hopefully we can try some original 8 Doors Whisky in maybe 1 to 2 Years.

We didn't take the tour, but we did a tasting and the whisky, although not peated like I prefer, was outstanding. The distillery and the location was beautiful and a great place to stop for a break on Scotland's North Coast 500.
