What a wonderful quirky yet fascinating museum - entry by donation. It places wireless and radio into the local context from early radio to wartime uses in the many sites you see on a trip round the isles.

Volunteer curator was so happy to discuss and explain the ancient radios interspersed with grandchildren’s heavy metal music. Brought it to life fabulously.

Popped in while girls went shopping and was dragged out an hour later!

Brilliant place to visit with children if weathers unkind

Lovely little museum, chock full of information about wireless, wartime wireless links and information about Scapa flow. Volunteers who run the museum are lovely and friendly. I learnt a lot from speaking to Mr Jolly and could have spent all day learning about the Orcadian way of life. Some of the displays brought back memories of my great grandmother and her wireless. If you are into ham radio, don’t forget to pick up your QSL card/ calling card and drop yours off too. Worth the £3 entry fee.

Small but very interesting, and the volunteers that run it have interesting stories to tell about the museum and the local history.

This is a brilliant little museum, a real trip down memory lane. The museum us packed full of old radios and yesteryear memorabilia. Entrance costs £3 and you can enjoy the different exhibits. I was particularly interested in the archive photo collection which has been put together. This museum is run entirely by volunteers and they make your visit worthwhile.

This is a fantastic little museum devoted to the early days of radio, television and gramophone and the part played by Orkney in World War 2. It is filled with astonishing exhibits and information. The staff are very friendly and approachable. The fee is a mere £3 or £1 for students, what a bargain.
