Had a really great experience with Activus Recruitment! The whole process of finding my new role was super quick and easy, and I really appreciated how much communication there was throughout. They kept me in the loop at every step and were always happy to answer questions or check in.

I’d seen a few older reviews that weren’t so positive, but it’s clear there’s a new team in place now—and they’re doing a great job. The difference is night and day. They were professional, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about finding the right fit.

Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new role—my experience couldn’t have gone better!

Pros: friendly staff- commit yourself and get good feed back from clients they’ll help you gain more work.

Cons:

1) Paid via umbrella companies. Third time my hours have been wrong, missing out in nearly £100.
2) Staff seem to forget requests you make via phone/ email which is extremely frustrating.
3) Never gave me any information regarding the job, if they did it was wrong.
4) Lack of knowledge from staff regarding specific industries.
5) Haven’t received a P45.
6) They send a general description of your background to the client before commencing work. Having read it was obvious that they used software you scan my CV for keywords, unfortunately a lot of wrong details were highlighted and not my other similar experience.

Overall- Needs improvement but has good potential if they worked on staff and get rid of umbrella companies.

For any white collar office based staff member stay clear of these guys. It seems they have recently branched from temporary site work to full time permanent placements and their lack of understanding of the typical roles found in construction related jobs will leave you severely short of pay and hostage to the old "we are the middleman" attitude. Stay well away from them as they are guilty of the great umbrella company swindle (google it - please) making you liable for NI and other contributions.

Awful at understanding of rate build ups, contractual arrangement and general legal rights as a worker. Constantly stonewalled when salary was falsely advertised. Job description was not accurately described and they deal with companies that have questionable trading history.

Post false advertisements online (likely collecting CV's to boost their portfolio). They seem to have a very poor understanding of their client's needs and do not look out for the best interests of the worker. Overall a very poor and very unresponsive recruitment company that are more than happy to cream your rate to the detriment of your rights and salary and punt you out to a 3rd party payroll service while stonewalling all your attempts to remedy the situation by dropping the middleman line and blaming it on others. Avoid.

Took time to email all my certs .cv etc .they didn't have the job just wanted a Labour bank to tout for work . One to avoid .3wks ago I was told to send in my stuff as a job was imminent. Since then nothing .

The director of this company has to learn some phone manners!! You just need to read the reviews to get a better understanding! Avoid at all costs there is plenty other agency's out there why even bother with this one!!! AVOID!!!

Had one consignment that started in may 2014 and still on said consignment. Look after there workers except could do with provision of gloves and ear protection and safety specs like other agencies

Been ignored by them and fobbed off even though I have good vocational qualifications and when I spoke to someone after 5 months!!! They were quick to make it not their fault at all..very very poor avoid avoid avoid
