Just returned from a fantastic weekend away in one of Toast Lettings fantastic properties. We stayed at the beautiful Woodbine Cottage in the Northumberland countryside. The cottage was immaculately clean on our arrival, a basket full of logs to get the log burner lit made the cottage warm and cosy. This cottage is set in such a tranquil location, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with amazing views and wildlife, saw 3 deer from the back garden. Would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend Toast Lettings

Such a bad attitude, booked an appointment to see a property in Langley park, I took a holiday from my workplace for this, Upon arrival I called and they said they can’t arrange the viewing and said you appointment is on another day, I got an email confirmation but they dont bother

At 5pm on Saturday my husband booked a property (for 5 nights from Monday) so that we could take my elderly father to see his terminally ill sister. Early on Monday morning we got the news that she had died during the night, so we chose to cancel the trip. My husband emailed Toast at 8am that morning, informing them of our decision and to ask if they would consider giving us a refund or credit towards a future booking. They did not reply so he rang them at 10am: they refused any kind of refund or credit.

I understand that they were fully within their right to do so, per their cancellation policy. If we had booked the property weeks/months ago and were cancelling at such short notice I feel that would be entirely reasonable. But as we made the decision to cancel less than 48 hours after we made the booking, and before their office reopened for business, and we did not even receive a booking confirmation until Tuesday (the day AFTER we were due to arrive), and there were no future bookings at that property until January 2024, I think their decision is harsh.

Suffice to say that when the whole family travels up to Durham for her funeral, none of us will be booking accommodation through Toast.

Looking for accommodation for the weekend of my daughter's graduation, we found some lovely looking properties let by Toast and when I started looking, the prices looked reasonable. The following morning prices had trebled overnight. Obviously demand was high because it was graduation weekend! I rang them up to enquire what was available and a lady said that she would get back to me, which she did not. I then found one of the Toast apartments on Vrbo at the original reasonable price (a third of that quoted directly on the Toast web site) and booked it. We were a little nervous as we had read some reviews about Toast letting customers down with last minute cancellations and especially because of the price discrepancies. This was all a couple of months ago and all seemed well until yesterday, 2 weeks before the graduation. We had an email cancelling our booking and refunded all monies paid. The company said that this was due to the owner of the property selling the apartment. Although not entirely surprised we are now left trying to find alternative accommodation for 2 weeks time for a very busy weekend. I do not understand how a property can be advertised and let if owners are trying to sell or how it can be sold and lettings not honoured. I would advise not having anything to do with Toast Lettings.

I’ve read some of the other reviews about Toast Lettings and no way do they reflect the very good service we received. We were a party of five and due to stay in an apartment that could accommodate us all. I received an email the day before advising that there’d been a leak so we couldn’t stay there. We were offered alternative accommodation which consisted of two apartments in the same property at no extra cost in Gilesgate. Both apartments were beautifully furnished, well kitted out and very comfortable. We would definitely use Toast Lettings again. Date of stay was the weekend of 20 May 2022.

We always use Toast Lettings when staying in Durham. Their prices are good, the website is easy to use and , the couple of times there have been issues beyond Toast's control, they have sorted them efficiently.
Recently, they have been very kind and understanding about a medical situation, and I'd like to thank Fern and the team for their help.
