Lovely few days staying in Chapel Beck Cottage. Plenty of room and everything we needed provided. Brilliant welcome pack including a bottle of champagne, chocolates and biscuits. Location is lovely and the cottage feels very private. The views are incredible. Enjoyed walking round the grounds which has a couple of lakes. We loved the hot tub which each cottage has. Also had a go at table tennis and pool in the small games room. Just north of the lakes so not overcrowded when going out. The local villages of Dalston and Caldbeck have some lovely walks as well as places to eat. The Muddy Duck in Caldbeck and in Dalston the Country Kitchen cafe - small but great food - and the The Fryer serves excellent fish and chips - best we have eaten for a long time. No great distance to travel to the Lakes or larger towns. Hoping to return some day - just wished it wasn't so far away!

We won a 3 night stay in a silent auction and I can honestly say, we had the best time. We stayed in Mickle Rigg cottage which is one of the dog friendly cottages. The cottage was clean, the bed was very comfy, the kitchen was well equipped and the owners had left a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates, which was a nice touch. The bath room had a lovely little set of hair/skin products. The hot tub was a gem!||We gave it 5 stars as we were really happy with our stay. The only little niggles were that there were no cushions (that we could find) for the outside furniture which made it uncomfortable to sit on for too long, and the ventilation fan in the bathroom is extremely loud and runs for quite a long time, which is ok during the day, but not so much at night. ||All in all, a really lovely place to stay. We didn't meet Gemma and Steve but we did go to The Old Crown and the staff in there was very nice. The only thing to bare in mind is that the cottages are quite remote and the locals pubs and eateries get booked up fast! We will definitely book evening meals in advance next time.

Very well equipped cottages. The overall location is a bit middle of nowhere and off a busy, country road (I think the whole region is a bit like that though) but generally you are in the heart of the action with all the big walks in the national parks and lakes just a short or hour drive away like Keswick which is named as John ruskin’s favourite view at friars Craig with stunning views of the mountains and lakeside walk, theatre, coffee houses and trails - which is not to be missed nor driving over the Scottish border to Gretna again about an hour away. The cottage itself is in a group of 5 or 6 and in its own secure compound so safe for dogs n kids. You cannot hear others or traffic inside the cottage. It is also set on a lovely area of fields with lambs and sheep and small water ponds. The roads are very good for driving. And masses of nice places to stop and grab snacks or meander. The Lake District national park starting point is close to Monkhouse hill about an hour walk or 5 mins car with heaths and Mountain View’s. Oh and if you like star gazing Cumbria is the best place to see constellations. Especially in the hot tub! Very comfortable beds and pillows - which is a thing - you sleep very well.

This break was amazing. We stayed 3 nights and could easily have stayed longer.|The cottage was very clean, roomy and inviting. It's got everything you need including a tassimo. Large bathroom with wet room shower. And good size bedroom. The garden was lovely and semi private. The hot tub was on clean and ready for us when we arrived. We also had a bottle of bubbly waiting which was so thoughtful. |Everything was almost perfect. |The only issue we had, was the drain did back up at one point BUT this was fixed very quickly by the staff. |Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

We stayed in the farmhouse it was absolutely gorgeous, there were 10 of us with plenty of room for us all, there are 2 fridge freezers which came in handy for all of the drink and food. The hot tub was massive and warm and we all enjoyed the games room. The house was lovely and clean

Enough space for all of us.|The only thing i feel would be of benefit is another sofa or some chairs in the upstairs lounge.|Thanks to Gemma for making us very welcome again.

We recently had a fabulous long weekend here and found the accommodation and facilities to be very well appointed; clean, warm, comfortable and relaxing. The complimentary extras provided were very welcome. The games room is a great bonus.
