It is an impressive site. We did not book a guided tour but apparently they are very interesting. In the visitor centre the history background is extensively illustrated and there are parts also dedicated to the kids. There is a shop for souvenirs and a cafeteria. The site is well organised. I recommend.

A large and modern interpretive center takes you through a detailed history of the site and the battle. We ended up skipping parts of it because it was rather crowded during our visit. The guided tour is a good 45-min walk through the main parts of the outdoor site. There has clearly been a lot of resources put into the buildings and preserving the site, but they are plainly trying to raise more to purchase the other parts of the battlefield that are currently under private property.

The Battle of Culloden was a great visit and highly recommend. Plenty of information around, regarding the history. You pay for parking upon entering which goes in to looking after the land and animals on site. I’d recommend researching the best times as we struggled to find a space to park. I wish we could have explored more of the area but the weather was a complete down pour! Loads of history and stopping points to see. Tours are available, although we just had a walk around.

A very moving day. Even without doing the paid tour, there was so much information available, that we were on information overload by the end of the end. It is well laid out, and we could almost feel what it would have been like in the "heat of battle". Well worth a visit to the information centre and then enjoy the walk around the battlefield.

Great place, totally dedicated to the Culloden battlefield. The museum is very informative and goes into great detail of the events on the day and the history behind it. There is a sense of tension/spookyness while walking around, probably as a lot of highlanders fell and were buried there. There's small stones dedicated to the Clansmen who fought the British.

Always a beautiful place to go to! It is free to walk the battlefield which it took me about 35 minutes to walk the whole field which was really nice. I would recommend some good hiking boots since it is a dirt/gravel trail and it was pretty wet today.

It was also the anniversary of the battlefield, so a lot more excitement going on with clan members paying their respects to their ancestors. It is a beautiful place to visit throughout the year and it is easy to access this battlefield by bus (also a cheaper options - £3.70 single ride)

I wish we had more time to explore everything more thoroughly. There’s so much history to take in, and walking the trails really gives you a sense of the past. The views were incredible, and it was peaceful despite the heavy history attached to the place. I’d love to come back on my own sometime, spend a few hours just walking and reflecting.

Culloden Battlefield and Museum serves as the final resting place and memorializes the soldiers fighting in the last Jacobite war in 1746. The immersion theatre in the museum allows spectators to experience the sounds and sights of the battle through four different screens. Walking through the battlefield is a stirring experience. Maps and information are available throughout the site. Highly recommend.
