We had a wonderful day out on the Steam train, Whitby & the moors tour. Chris was a fantastic tour guide, full of interesting facts and information. The small group made it feel more personal as if you have a private tour guide. The trip across the moors was spectacular! The views breathtaking and Chris would stop off at points where we could get out and take pictures or just take in the amazing scenery. The whole day was brilliant, topped off with the Steam Train journey! I would highly recommend this trip with Chris. Thank you for a fantastic day.

Our guide, Chris was organized and flexible. His passion for All Creatures and love of the Dales was contagious. He communicated well in advance after booking. His tour visits places that no other tour promotes. He is very articulate and listened to our questions. He has a richness of knowledge on All Creatures, geography, place names, farming, history. He brought our group together as a community

We went on the Yorkshire Dales trip with Chris our Driver/guide. What an amazing day. Chris was so informative and knowledgeable about the area. The whole day was absolutely brilliant. The small bus experience meant that we could really get on the back roads. The all creatures great and small itinerary was perfect and we happened to arrive in Grassington (Darrowby) as they were setting up for a filming of the next season. We couldn't fault the day and highly recommend Grand Yorkshire tours. It was a pleasure to be on this tour travelling all the way from Australia to see Yorkshire. Chris should be very proud of the tours he has created, as the following day we toured again this time to the moors, Whitby and goathland (Aidensfield in Heartbeat) and the steam train to Pickering. Well the weather couldn't have been much worse but Chris taylored the tour a little different and we still had the most wonderful day. It was actually pretty special to see the moors like this. The guaranteed steam train was great. As well as the photo opportunities anywhere we wanted. Well done Grand Yorkshire tours Chris.

The day far exceeded my expectations! Pete was an outstanding guide who shared great insights about the history and geography of the area. The villages we visited along the way were wonderful, the Moreland was spectacular and the day in Whitby fantastic. This is a well thought out tour that won’t be a disappointment!

We considered driving ourselves to visit the Yorkshire Dales but are so glad we didn’t! This is a wonderful way to see this beautiful countryside and its villages. Our guide, Chris, clearly loves this place. His kindness, good humor, and deep knowledge made this a fabulous tour for us. Too bad we can’t give him 6 stars!

Chris, driver and guide and owner, was absolutely top notch. We loved exploring the Yorkshire Dales with him as our guide. Just the four of us and him, far better than a large tour bus of 40 people. Talk about a top-notch and fun way to learn about York’s history and surrounding area. Chris, the owner, is knowledgeable and charismatic and lovely to spend the day with. The tour begins around 8:30am – they pick you up from your hotel – and journeys through the countryside and surrounding abbey ruins, adorable towns like Helmsley (go hungry!), and the moors. You’ll have lunch in Whitby and end the day with a steam train ride to Pickering. This was easily one of our favorite experiences during our visit to the UK! We’d recommend having Chris drop you off at York Minster following the tour for Evensong.
