We loved our experience from start to finish with Expedition Yorkshire. Our families emigrated to the US from Yorkshire many years ago, and it was important to us that we were able to customize our tour to include a couple of stops. Experience Yorkshire was able to include them. Working with Andrew to schedule our trip and the communication were very easy. He stayed in touch with us up and through our tour. Our guide Richard was the most wonderful man who made his love of Yorkshire now ours. He shared the history of the land and culture. The shared love of history made our conversations interesting. His passion for the Dales showed as we navigated the roadways with ease. Richard made wonderful suggestions for our tour, given we had a young child with us. We had stops along the way, which permitted us to soak up the local culture. We hated to see the day come to an end when we arrived back in York. However, we feel as if we made a friend in Richard and hope to do other tours with Expedition Yorkshire in the future. We highly recommend that you thoroughly enjoy the adventure.

Absolutely amazing guide service. We spent spent several days with Expedition Yorkshire and I really cannot recommend highly enough. We started with Andrew and a trip down the “pointy bits” from pick-up at Edinburgh Airport to York. We stopped at Rosslyn Chapel, Hadrian’s Wall, several cathedral ruins, and a lovely pub for lunch on the way down. Once we were in York we were treated to a Best of York tour with Matt on our first day and we linked up with Matt again for our second day to tour the Minster. History is a big part of why we travel and it was awesome to have a guide with deep historical knowledge leading us through town. Our trip back to Edinburgh with Andrew was just stunning. We saw Durham Cathedral, took a lovely windy walk up the North Sea coast toward Dubstaburgh Castle and stopped at Bamburgh Castle before a delicious fish and chips lunch. We went on to St Aidan’s Church and took a truly awesome trip to Lindisfarne before being delivered to our hotel in Edinburgh. The pure scenery on the trip would have been worth it, but the experiences at so many historical sites with a deeply knowledgeable guide made it once in a lifetime. Absolutely top flight guides and human beings. You know you’ve found the right tourguide when you miss them a little after saying goodbye. Our family of six just got home from a 10-day trip across the U.K. and we all agree--our day traveling from York to Edinburgh with Andrew at Expedition Yorkshire was our top highlight! Cannot recommend his services highly enough. On top of his incredible expertise and knowledge of the area, Andrew went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable, safe, relaxed and cared for throughout the journey. He was thoughtful in selecting an itenerary that would appeal to our four kids' interests- and engaged with each member of our family in a personal way. The atmosphere in our van was filled with laughter and curiosity and imagination and warmth. We were absolutely blown away by the experience and are dreaming of another trip!

Our private transfer tour from Edinburgh to York was the highlight of our recent trip to the UK. We are independent travelers and typically do not use guided tours, but we heard Andrew on a podcast and knew we wanted to try Expedition Yorkshire. We just completed two exceptional tours with Expedition Yorkshire. The first was the Moor, Coast, and Cliff tour, where we visited the amazing scenic countryside north and east of York where we were staying. We had also booked a “transfer tour” from York to our next destination in Edinburgh. This was a great way to move on to our next locale without “wasting” a day, as we traveled from site to site along the way. Andrew and company tailored the tours to our specific interests - history and photography - ensuring rich and memorable experiences for both of us. This is a review written from my mom: "There were five of us who toured the north of England in September 2024 and had a great time, thanks to Andrew. We were in York, Keswick and Durham, with several other nearby locations. We had a vague idea of what we wanted to see and Andrew knew exactly how to get there and what spots were the best bets for our group. Absolutely fantastic transfer tour from York to Edinburgh. Andrew is an excellent guide and developed an itinerary that took us to all of the places we wanted to go. We saw far more of the countryside than we would have from the train and in greater comfort. The day was one of the highlights of our trip.
