Our Travel Agent found us this company for our last four days touring the Highlands. Even before we left (from the U.S.) for our vacation Macleod-Heilan made putting together the best itinerary for all the places/things on our list. When we first met our tour guide John (Owner) he immediately made our group feel comfortable and ready for the day ahead. We had the pleasure of being the very first group in the companies newest van and it made getting around from so many different places and stops an enjoyable experience because of the space and creature comforts in the van. One in our group is close to 6ft 4in in height and he had no trouble getting in and out and have enough room to stretch out. John is so knowledgeable of all the local businesses and histories that it felt like we were sitting around a fire hearing stories rather than driving around the countryside. I have some mobility issues that can make some excursions difficult and John was able to make every single thing on our wish list happen and that I could do it with the least amount of discomfort. While we were in the middle of our four days, John kept us on time (an impressive feat with our group) and entertained. While on Skye John was able to change our route day of so we could see more and have longer times in places he knew we wanted to explore. For me personally the reason Macleod-Heilan will always get my rave reviews and be the company of choice for my family going forward will be the attention to detail and level of care. This trip was years in the making and I can say with no doubts that it was as magical, moving and memorable as it was because of Macleod-Heilan Tours.

I really don’t know how to describe how amazing our trip to Scotland was thanks to John and Marco!

We booked directly through the website (it was very easy to do!), and John was so communicative as we planned and approached the trip. We took the three day Isle of Skye tour, with Marco as our guide. We cannot say enough good things about Marco, he was absolutely brilliant. He was flexible with our itinerary, providing on the go suggestions to accommodate the weather, suggested spots for us to see based on our interests (thank you Marco for always pointing out the highland coos!), recommended great restaurants throughout our travels, all while sharing the incredible history of the areas we were exploring. We felt like we were able to see so much of the Highlands on this tour - every place was absolutely beautiful - we know we will be back one day! We had such an amazing time on our tour. John was very helpful and detailed in explaining the tour options and helping us find places to stay. Our tour guide was Marco who was absolutely wonderful! This tour was extremely efficient, calm, and easy to book. John Sheedy is one of a kind and will show you the best of the Isle of Skye in Scotland with exceptional hosting! John was kind, supportive, adventurous, and always willing to explore new areas (even dinosaur footprints) and highland cows. He is trustworthy, knows the roads well, and is a true local with amazing insights into the Isle of Skye and its history.

The vehicle was very clean and always stocked with water and a variety of drinks. John was considerate about breaks and ensured we were comfortable throughout. I loved being able to roll the window down and enjoy the views with my partner as we explored Bonnie Scotland. This tour deserves a million stars, not just five!

We saw so many locations in a condensed time while still taking in the scenery and history. John was flexible with the itinerary and always had engaging conversations. We had an amazing 5 day tour with John Sheedy. He’s a local so he truly knows his stuff! history, mythology, tales, and personal stories, you name it!

He is very accommodating, flexible, and very knowledgeable and overall just a lovely guy! so he will ensure your itinerary is maximized and best suited for you.
The van is very clean and comfortable and well stocked with water, chargers, and of course whisky and drambuie! John is an excellent driver, being a local he’s knows the ins and outs of the roads which made for smooth sailing in the beautiful Scottish Highlands

John brings a great energy and vibe that made the trip unforgettable, playing fitting music for our destinations, piloting a drone for some amazing pictures and videos. You can tell John truly loves what he does and that made our experience truly special.

A group of friends and I recently traveled to Scotland and enjoyed a Macleod Heilan bespoke day tour of the Scottish countryside. John was a pleasure to deal with. With his help and responsive communication we were able to organize a cohesive plan on fairly short notice.
Our tour guide, Marco, was lovely. He was pleasant and fun to spend the day with. Marco was also extremely accomodating to our group, very knowledgeable about the areas we visited, and well versed in Scottish history.
The tour vehicle was clean and comfortable. We were supplied with a great playlist, bottled water and even a "wee dram".
I would not hesitate to recommend Macleod Heilan Tours, John and Marco. It was a seamless experience start to finish. I look forward to returning to Scotland and to planning a multi day tour with this company in the future!

Without a doubt this was the best tour we did during our time in Scotland! My family and I did the Oban tour in the hope to know more about our family heritage and we got the best tour guide to take us on this journey. Marco has been absolutely lovely from the very beginning and his knowledge of Scotland and all of it's tales were incredibly well explained. We had so much fun and too many great laughs.
