Scapa Taxis - Kirkwall

I had been in contact with Stewart a couple of times by email about arranging a private tour of the island on the day our cruise ship was in port. Stewart provided us with helpful information and several suggestions for things to do.

On the day of our arrival, we were slightly delayed getting off the ship, but Stewart was very flexible. We had hoped to photograph puffins, so he drove us to Yesnaby Castle sea stack, sharing stories about life on the island along the way. It was just a 15-minute walk from the car park, and the view was absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, due to the strong wind and the early season, we didn’t see any puffins—but that didn’t take away from the experience at all.

Stewart then took us on a scenic drive across the island, bringing us to the highest point, where we enjoyed a magnificent view of Kirkwall and our cruise ship. He later dropped us off in the center of Kirkwall, where we did some shopping.

Stewart was incredibly helpful and kind, and we loved having the freedom to choose what to see and where to go. Ship-organized excursions often take you to places you’re not particularly interested in, and you might spend either too much or too little time at each stop. This private tour was a fantastic way to explore the island at our own pace and focus only on the things we cared about. If we ever return to Kirkwall, we would definitely book this tour again.

We booked this taxi service to pick us up from the Orkney ferry station at 11pm last night. We were a bit concerned if they would show BUtT the driver was there . He was very courteous and so friendly. The Service was excellent and price very reasonable. We will definitely be using this service again . Highly recommend.

We looked for a guidebook well in advance for our day trip to Orkney's for a few hours.... And thanks to Donna and Stewart we found it!
From the initial transaction to payment everything worked perfectly. Pick up at the cruise terminal more than on time and we were able to spend the time as we wished....

Sorry to give a bad review but we booked a taxi two days in advance for a 9am pick up to take us to the airport. When we queried after 10mins, we got texts assuring us the driver was on the way, but when 40 mins had passed with no sign of the taxi, we gave up and were lucky to have an alternative option.

This was my first trip to Orkney and I booking a tour with Scapa was easy, efficient, and ended up being a great decision. My driver was knowledgeable without being obnoxious. He was a great driver, friendly, quiet, and kind. Totally would recommend this company as a tour company as well as a quick taxi service too! Thanks for making my trip to Orkney great!
