Highly recommend! Ben was brilliant, managing my many questions throughout and re-arranging seamlessly to overcome weather (Snow in Dorset!) and (my) availability challenges!
Training on the boat was excellent with Tom and Paul, both challenging and supportive, I learnt a lot. The boat is very well equipped and a great size for training. BH Marine also delivered VHF and First aid training which were also very good and again delivered and flexed to suit my availability. Portland and Weymouth is a fantastic training area - with a range of navigational challenges, commercial and RFA shipping to navigate + plenty of docks and buoys to practice on.
Training all built up to me feeling very prepared for my Yachtmaster (Coastal) exam - which I passed - thanks again to the excellent prep and training! Can not recommend enough, fantastic experience. Thank you.

From the online booking to the exam I can't rate this company enough. Tom my instructor was on point and made the experience fun along with teaching his skills. Ben the owner was helpful and gave me full use of the classroom to get my theory passage plan finished. Highly recommend for all levels of boating and better value than most to boot. Well done BH Marine.

I trained with BH Marine this year taking both the practical and theoretical invigilated exams for my Day Skipper ticket.
I can honestly say that this is the best training I have ever received.
I was taught on a way that was easy to learn and remember.
No wasted time, everything was put into giving us the knowledge to improve our seamanship.
I feel like I now have the skill sets and knowledge to get on with my solo. commercial venture safely and professionally.
Thank you so much to Ben and his crew, you’ve been brilliant.
I’d recommend BH Marine to anyone who wants to get out on the water, it will improve your time at sea no end.

Took and passed, my Powerboat level 2 this weekend with BH Marine Academy. All I can say is what a 1st class operation. Mike the instructor was patient, very knowledgeable and made the whole experience enjoyable.
I could not complete the course on the dates planned previously, due to weather conditions, but Ben kept me informed and booked my place as soon as conditions improved. I will be taking other courses, and would recommend BH Marine to anyone looking at taking any Marine courses.

I used BH Marine for my YM prep and exam. Brilliant service will be using them again. Their yacht a Bavaria 38 handled beautifully in all conditions and I had a great instructor and the location of Weymouth bay and Portland Harbour meant we achieved everything in a short space of time regardless of conditions. 5 stars from me.

Excellent course, professional and enjoyable. Very knowledgeable instructor. Easy booking and great value. The course was run out of Portland Marina which was ideal and the weather was amazing, which made the weekend. My 18 year old son is rightly very proud of his powerboat 2 licence, the amount he learnt over the two days with Dave was really impressive. We would definitely use BH Marine in the future.
