Great place for a stroll through the grounds and to see some of the quirky features such as the castle follie. We didn't explore the far reaches of the estate but what we did see we enjoyed. I can understand the frustrations of seeing the house and not being able to go in but it is a fully functioning college that doesn't belong to the national trust... If you enjoy views and the relaxation of a stroll or good walk with plenty to see then you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful place. Quite steep as uphill. The route on Google maps is wrong. It takes you directly to Northern College which is restricted and for private use only. You will be turned away. To get to this place and Wentworth Castle Gardens, you have to drive to the Staffordshire Arms on Park Drive behind which is a fork that snakes through fields to the entrance car park where National Trust volunteers will further guide you.

Nice place to go to. Serves good food for the size of the kitchen... Would only suggest a snack & drink prior to looking round the gardens.

The tour of the house was incredible and Marge, the VOLUNTEER had expert knowledge and delivered the information in a passionate and engrossing way. Top marks and made it a very enjoyable visit.

Actual grounds are very well kept. Can't believe this place seems to be shutting down due to funding as it is an incredible location with great walks and interesting points of interest.
If you haven't been, get there soon... Else you may not get a chance otherwise. Appears to be very good for kids also, adventure play ground and kid dedicated menu at the café.

Not a massive place but a real pleasant place. The benches have taken into account wheelchairs and staff are top people.
Little book shop at one end and make sure you try the chocolate and cherry scone.
