Great day out with the dogs. Various walking routes which were easy to follow. Toilets were nice. Quite a large park for kids near visitors centre. There's a cafe, but also picnic tables. Could easily have full day out here.

Only gave it a 4 cuz i didnโ€™t get to see the rest of it. Only did a loop hoping to see some birds but didnโ€™t. The views were amazing. Beautiful wild flowers. Will go back to see the rest of the forest, and hopefully birds!

Amazingly, forest trails, but then ensure that you stay on your trail and dont drift in or mix in another trail...As precautions u can download offline maps and keep carrying little food etc and mobile charged...DO NOT TAKE THE TRAIL IF YOU CANNOT WALK OR BIKE...Another thing once you reach Hawkhead via bus 505 pls ensure you the information center and rent a electric bike or take a taxi...better rent as if you come back to Hawkhead from Grizdal there is no Bus or taxi service either you walk or if some gives you a drop if they are kind enough like oour case...ensure you have time in hand and exist the trail...
U can see deers, foxes, and red squirrels..we saw deers many of them in the black and green trails...

We went to do the "stickman" trail with a 22month old and a 4 year old and it was perfect for them. About a 2k route with regular activities and stickers to be put in place in a gorgeous area of woodland. Great cafe and shop at the begining. Parking and lunch wasn't cheap but the food was good. Lovely family day out with little ones.

Wonderful place to take kids. The cafe was lovely. The play area kept the kids busy for ages. The walks through the woods were wonderful, beautiful in the autumn colours. Thereโ€™s also the Gruffalo trail to do. @one_more_walk

Had a quiet evening stroll through Grizedale Forest. There are multiple different routes, but for us, we took the yellow posted one as it's the most suitable for wheelchairs users. There are shops, cafes, and WC facilities on site. There is plenty of disabled parking (fees apply). If you have monkeys in tow, there is a Go Ape centre and adventure playground and zip wire to keep them entertained, too. Plus, the Gruffolo trail to follow and multiple seating and picnic tables scattered around.
