Glasgow is truly hidden gem, and Johnny’s tour is a must if you want to learn about the city, its past, and the incredible bounty it offers visitors. The tour was a full three hours, and Johnny’s enthusiasm and pace never slackened. He made a personal connection with each of the members of our group. The history of this city is layered like an onion, and Johnny brings it all to life.
We would recommend booking a tour with Glasgow Gander walking tours early in your visit, because once you have experienced the tour, you will be better able to prioritize what you want to go see. You will also, like us, belatedly recognize you can’t do this city justice in just one visit.
We can not recommend this tour strongly enough, Johnny is a lively and jovial walking archive of this outstanding city. A true Glaswegian ambassador to all visitors.

A wonderful tour of Glasgow. Our guide knows the city like the back of his hand. He loves the city and generously shares all he can about it. I have family here but learnt more in a few hours than in all the times I have visited over the years. Highly recommended 5 stars

Johnny was a fantastic tourguide. His insights to the history, architecture, art, etc. of Glasgow were very interesting and Johnny captures everyone with his enthusiastic way of presenting the city. He also took as along some Hidden Gems you would probably not get to see on other tours. At the end of the tour, he sent us an extensive list with all kinds of suggestions, and everything we tried really was a great suggestion. We could spend a week here now if we had the time.
I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting Glasgow - we do a walking tour in every city we visit, but this was the best one we have ever experienced. Thanks a lot fir this great experience!

What a wonderful tour experience with Johnny yesterday - highly recommend if you are making a trip to Glasgow. So much better than riding a tour bus or being shoved into a large group - this was a personalized, intentionally small group tour that allowed you to hear Johnny, and really enjoy the journey. For 3 hours, Johnny shared his incredible knowledge of his city - he really knows his stuff and provides outstanding recommendations. We saw several sights that highlighted the history and uniqueness of Glasgow through history, along with some of the bigger “must see” items. I cannot say enough about the tour - loved every minute of it. Absolutely superb.

If you rely on Google maps and reviews like I do, do not be put off by the lack of reviews of Glasgow Gander Walking Tours. Head to Viator to read the hundreds of 5 star reviews about Johnny and his tour.

If you are reading this, and you are unsure if you want to take the risk on a tour with fewer reviews than some of your other options on GetYourGuide - stop here and just book this one. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Among the top walking tours I have done across maybe a dozen cities/countries. At first glance, 3hrs might look long but I *urge* you to do this one. You'll see so much more of Glasgow from a real professional with kindness, empathy, and poise. Johnny is a passionate Glaswegian with deep, meaningful knowledge of the city and country - and was able to answer every question we threw at him with ease.
