My husband and I(40s) and my parents(70s) just returned from a 7 day tour with Drams Scotland and couldn't have been happier with our experience! From the first contact Ann Marie was responsive and informative and helped us design an itinerary specific to our interests ( a good mix of history, nature, and whiskey). During our tour Michael was a wealth of information about everything from history and culture to the local flora and fauna. We preferred to avoid crowds (where possible) and Michael knew just where to go so that we could see famous sites like Loch Ness while avoiding throngs of tourists. Our group loves walking, and Michael seemed to know all the hidden walking paths everywhere we went! We would never have found most of these spots without him. He's also an exceptional and safe driver. If you are debating if you should rent/drive a car in Scotland, DON'T! The roads are curvy, hilly, and often single track. Michael is a true professional and kept us feeling safe and comfortable the entire time. Having a private tour also meant that Michael could visit with us about weather and crowd conditions and make adjustments when needed to get the most out of each day. Ann Marie also made dinner reservations for us each night (a must during high season) and every restaurant she chose was spot on with our preference for delicious local food. I would recommend Michael and Ann Marie to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to use their services again if I'm lucky enough to return to Scotland.

What an amazing trip! What started out as just a whisky tour turned into an experience of a lifetime! I wasn’t into whisky, but love to travel. I was nervous before going, but Ann Marie’s planning with Michael’s execution was wonderful. Historic sites and tours with distilleries was a wonderful mix. We had a schedule but Michael was flexible and accommodating to our needs-food, restroom an ice cream. We had a minor injury and Michael sat with him at the bar so he wouldn’t be drinking alone while we walked on our tour, after running out to pick up a walking stick! Later when feeling better he added in a sweet park trip so we could see the Kelpies. I even found a couple of whiskies I liked-unfortunately the £2000/bottle one I loved was left behind (figures that’s the one I LOVED)

THANK YOU BOTH for making my 1st trip to the UK so memorable❤️❤️ I’m not sure it can be topped!

Whether you are looking to see beautiful scenery, taste delicious whiskey, or visit historic sites, your trip won't be complete without Drams Scotland. Our trip would not have been the same without the expert logistics, planning and knowledge of Drams Scotland. Michael took such good care of our group and made sure we were in the best places at the right time. Due to his knowledge and relationships, we were also able to get our hands on many wonderful bottles of scotch. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime! We will definitely be back for a few more wee drams.

Incredible experience! We just got back from our trip to Islay and can't stop raving about how brilliant Ann Marie and Michael were at planning our visit. We would have been lost without them. Knowledge of little known historical spots, hotels, navigating distilleries & restaurants and more, they were amazing. We found many distilleries and restaurants we never would have visited without them. Just perfect!

I feel our trip wouldn't have been 1/100th as memorable if we didn't have Michael's in depth knowledge of every aspect of Scotland. We learned so much! Plus, Michael is perhaps the best driver I've had the pleasure to be in a van with (tricky roads were nothing for him...and believe me you do NOT want to be driving on those roads after a distillery tour...they're tough even without a whisky tasting. :)). Trust me--if you want to get the most out of your visit to Scotland look no further than Drams. There's not enough space to describe how great our trip was.

Kudos to Ann Marie and Michael for making our trip a once in a lifetime experience...though we plan to make it more than ONCE in a lifetime experience because we had such a wonderful time we're already talking about going back. Absolutely brilliant, and has our highest recommendation!

Believe me, if you're looking to get the most out of your trip to Scotland, Drams Scotland is simply the BEST.

The experience of a lifetime. We spent four amazing days with Michael on a deep dive of Islay, and we couldn't have been happier. He's knowledgable, friendly and accommodating — and a great driver. In the planning process, Ann Marie was tremendous, and she ensured that every detail was covered. We're working with her now to plan another trip. We're delighted to be repeat customers.

This trip of a lifetime was paid in full in 2020 but we had to delay our trip until 2022 due to COVID. Drams Scotland very generously honored our 2020 fees! Also, Ann Marie patiently worked with us through multiple changes and hotel cancellations to ensure we had a fantastic trip.

Drams Scotland was able to comfortably accommodate our party of 3 couples. (Though we maxed out the luggage capacity!) Our goal was to see all whisky regions and we were not disappointed. It was a whirlwind tour but most days we checked into a hotel by late afternoon leaving us a chance to relax before dinner. Ann Marie booked lodging and restaurant reservations for us. This meant our meals were usually top notch at places that were difficult to reserve.

Michael was very helpful and knowledgeable and an excellent tour guide. His command of history and whisky is impressive. He drove us to a diverse sampling of distilleries in each of the whisky regions where we sampled some exceptional whiskies and walked away with several "distillery exclusive" bottles. In addition to whisky, we also learned to appreciate the Scottish culture and history thanks to Michael's commentary. Scotland has had a profound impact on our modern world that I did not appreciate fully.

(Our whisky tour included Dawhinnie, Glenfarclas, Balvenie, Strathisla, Benromach, Glenmorangie, Springbank, Cadenhead's Warehouse, Bunnahabhain Warehouse, Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Caol Ila, Deanston, Bruichladdich, Kilchoman...jealous yet?

Between drams, we visited the Edinburgh Tattoo, Mary King's Close, Telford bridge in Craigellachie, Lossiemouth ice cream, Blair Castle, Clava Cairns, Culloden, Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, Chocolates of Glenshiel (delish!), Eilean Donan Castle, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe massacre site, Castle Stalker, Kilmartin KIrkyard, Kildalton Cross, Doune Castle, Kelpies and Rosslyn Chapel.)

Michael was very responsive to our last minute requests while keeping our group of 6 on track. From bathroom stops, to finding a walking stick (one of us had a badly sprained ankle...not at a distillery), retracing steps to retrieve a lost cell phone (at a distillery of course), to a last minute change of itinerary to the National Museum of Flight where we saw the Concorde, Comet and Spitfire among other historical aircraft.

I wish we had packed lighter and brought an empty suitcase. We checked into our airline with a clinking suitcase near the weight limit. (At US customs, we declared all of our bottles, still got a raised eye brow, but proceeded uneventfully.)

I want to come back. When we do, we'll call Drams Scotland again! I cannot recommend this company enough.

Drams Scotland (Michael and Ann Marie) were fantastic from top to bottom, I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for an amazing tour of Scotland.
Ann Marie was very quick in response and put together a very detailed itinerary and actively factored in personal considerations into the itinerary. She was detailed, communicative, and diligent about planning a very special trip for my father and I. She was super timely at all stages of the planning process
Michael led an amazing tour. While we did a whisky specific tour, he did a perfect blend of both whisky and historical Scotland information. He was super knowledgeable in both areas and responded to all questions as well as reacted to the areas you were more interested in. He was punctual and very clear in travel arrangements and was always there to help, if needed.
We had an amazing time at 4 exceptional distilleries and a couple of others whisky bars. Highly recommend to everyone!!
