We were so lucky to find Jeff and Purple Heather Scottish Tours! Jeff arranged our entire trip from Edinburgh, up through the Highlands to the Isle of Skye and back. We only had 10 days, but we feel as though we saw, and learned so much of Scotland. The accommodations Jeff chose for us were perfect. Heather was our guide and driver, and she was incredible!! She taught us the entire way about the history and beauty of this amazing country. Heather is so engaging and truly loves getting to know you, and sharing her knowledge and passion. Thank you Jeff and Heather for a wonderful trip!

A company does not earn 5 stars unless they treat their customers as 5 star people. Purple Heather does just that. The whole team is professional and friendly. More importantly, they have a incredible wealth of knowledge and the ability to talk, explain and tell stories that capture you. This is not a tour where you climb on a bus with 20-30 other people only to have the bus driver flip a switch to a recording as your guide. This is a personalized journey into the beauty and history of Scotland. (Many thanks to Heather for that!) In 12 days we explored Edinburgh, the west coast, a few of the larger Hebrides and the Highlands in a luxury SUV. We asked to see a few places off the beaten path and were truly accommodated. We requested outstanding B&Bs and had some of the best food at a few of them. In the larger cities, we asked for bespoke lodging and enjoyed each place we stayed. Jeff was attentive to what we wanted, took the time to understand the needs of the group and was a true pleasure to work with. If you can only afford to get to Scotland on a group tour, just get to Scotland and maybe book a day trip or two with Purple Heather, but if you are looking for a truly customized trip for around 25-30% more, I could not recommend any better company than Purple Heather. We will use them again, and again...We have to go back!

My wife and I began our touring in Scotland in 2022 and we were introduced to Jeff and PHST thru some online research. 2 trips later and some of the best memories made, we can confidently say now that Jeff is no longer just our tour guide. He’s our friend. He has made our trips so personable and special and hassle free that we will never not tour Scotland without him. From booking accommodations, to mapping out the entire trip, he is always there for his patrons. Morning until night, and always ensuring the experience is the very best it can be. My wife and I just returned from a great 3 week trip to Scotland, through Purple Heather Scottish Tours. This trip was originally planned for April 2020, but was postponed twice due to Covid. That meant that Jeff had to organize and plan our trip 3 times.

Jeff is a true travel professional who has drove all through Europe in his career with the large coaches, but now focusses on smaller, more intimate excursions in his native Scotland.

In addition to booking all of our B&B's, meals, excursions, etc., Jeff served as our driver and did a superb job telling us about the history of Scotland and attending to our every need.

Jeff will tailor your trip to whatever you want to do and see, and he is a stickler for planning details that only a local would think about.

My husband, grandson and I were in the UK earlier this month and went to Scotland - only for a one-day tour to Loch Ness, from Edinburgh. Unfortunately our original tour guide tested positive for Covid the day before, when we were already on our way to Edinburgh from London.

Jeff stepped into the breach at a moments notice and literally saved the day, we were immensely grateful.

Jeff arrived at our hotel early, had the car ready and waiting with water, Scottish goodies to nibble on and cute small hand sanitisers. From the moment I spoke to Jeff, and it was reconfirmed when we met him and saw the car prepared for us, I knew we were in safe hands.

We drove up to Loch Ness, took the boat tour and returned via the beautiful Cairngorms National Park (see attached photo).

The entire day was fabulous. Jeff answered all our questions, he was knowledgeable and interesting, and he had the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness.

I wanted to add to my existing review from 2019 seeing we loved the first trip so much we went back as soon as we could in 2022. For anyone who reads this that is between a Purple Heather tour, and a tour company that would require you to accompany many other people that you don't know through Scotland... the individualized trip that Purple Heather provides really provides an experience that is unparalleled. Having a personal car and guide allows you to focus on the full experience vs having to wait on 15 or more other people in a big tour group...I'll leave it at that. Couple that with the knowledge and expertise you with with a Purple Heather guide...you can't go wrong. We will definitely be booking again.

This type of tour was the first of its kind for us. We were going to Europe/Scotland for the first time, and were nervous as first time visitors we would make those planning mistakes every international traveler worries about.
I then found Purple Heather Scottish Tours and read about the unique offerings and planning services they provide ; more so, they completely customize your vacation with some intial input on what you are looking to do on your trip. My husband is a golf fanatic, so they arranged everything from transportation to the course, the left handed clubs to t times for a few courses for him, and for me, I wanted to see castles and history- Jeff from Purple Heather took me on some castle tours while my husband golfed... what an experience to have your own planner, guide and driver all in one!
Ive never experienced anything like it, and what a way to travel! - we were able to utilize thier knowledge of the country and venues to craft a week long itinerary for just for us. An experience like this will change the way you want to travel. At the end of the trip, it felt like we left with a friend in Scotland. We are already planning our second trip with them for 2021. I loved the tour it has a lot of cultural history and the scenery and land scapes are beautiful and a wonderful atmosphere it like living a wonderful worry free life i had a great time and wonderful experience I recommend if you love site seeing and enjoy fresh air and like cultural history you should take the tour and experience it for your self

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Scotland. Jeff did a terrific job of organizing the details and exceeding our expectations. We had a private small group tour and our guide and driver were friendly, knowledgeable and were a great addition to our trip. The hotels were well situated, clean and comfortable.
