Recently back from North Yorkshire train holiday. Staying at the Cedar Court hotel which was a modern, large, clean place, with very helpful friendly staff. I had vegetarian food all week which was very tasty. Lots of different trips out via train and coach, all very interesting. It did seem a lot for some people who chose to stay in the hotel and take advantage of their hospitality. Carl the driver from Grayways was brilliant. Very engaging, accommodating and couldn't do enough for us .

This was our first time using Ellen Smith Coach Company and I have to say they were 5 star. From the punctual pick up at our home to the return journey everything was first class. Our driver Yvonne was wonderful and went out of her way to ensure everything was perfect for us. She was a careful and skilled driver. Despite us sitting at the back of the coach the journey was so smooth and you hardly knew you were moving. This was down to her excellent driving skills. The hotel The Royal York and Faulkner was also first class and this was obvious from the extremely efficient and quick way we were all checked in. This hotel prides itself in dedication and attention to detail to ensure that an atmosphere of relaxation and friendliness pervades. The hotel enjoys an unrivalled position on the sea front at Sidmouth and minutes walk from the beautiful town centre.
What a superb holiday. Definitely will be returning with Ellen Smith.

Just returned from 5 day holiday to Isle of Man. Our driver Alan who works for Graways Coaches whose coach was used was brilliant through out our holiday. Excursions were very good . Hotel was very nice clean and comfortable bed . Sadly the meals were poor and service in dining room very slow . The one morning I had a cooked breakfast the food was cold. I expected more from supposedly one of the best hotels on the Isle of Man .

Husband and myself went to Alexandra hotel Fort William. Hotel a little shabby, needs updating. Meals....every evening meal 2 boiled potato's, 3/4 carrots and swede with either, chicken ,pork or fish..... bought silver Jewellry in the hotel, (silver according to receptionist) got home...definitely not silver.
No lights over our dinning table, we asked and were told they couldn't be fixed. The bedrooms, spacious enough, but just to warm, could only open the window about 1 inch. The beds were awful , full of tuffed bits on the mattresses, very old fashioned. Complained....nothing done. The excursions...to much each day, our trip door to door had really elderly people in their 90s, infact everyone was a pensioner. Breakfast at 7.am or 7.30. Coach at 9am or earlier..just to many places in one day. The trip to Inverness for example left at 8.15 am back at 5.30. Dinner at 7.30pm. Its just to much, too long a day. Our driver Darren was just brilliant. Lots of little stops for the loo, or longer one's for a quick takeaway coffee. First proper free time Oban on the last day. Door to door was good , but your trying to pack to much into each day. Consider your clientèle please. We're elderly and tire easily. Half day excursions and free time is what is required. Took 10hrs to get to fort worth from greater manchester......won't be doing this again in a hurry...sorry we were exhausted when we got back home, and the day afterwards we both started with covid.....hope all the others are OK.

The one star rating purely for the driver who was friendly and polite. However we were given seat numbers but the coach had no seat numbers. The coach itself (not an Ellen Smith coach) was filthy. My shoes were stuck to the floor with dried up fizzy drink, there was chewing gum stuck between the head rests. The coach itself was worn out inside and the AC didn't work which is no joke on a 2 1/2 hour journey on a very hot day. There was no apology or explanation regarding the state the coach was in. My first and last trip with this company!

Coach over l hour late still waiting in Bodelwyddan castle north wales. Got a very important hospital appointment at 3 pm.
Was told before coming we would be back by 1-00pm. If coach does not arrive soon I will have to get a taxi 75 miles and bill Ellen Smith.
Very poor service would not recommend this company. They say coach broke down and had to get second on.Were have I heard that before? Still waiting 11.15 not good, will book taxi in 45mins quoted £100 and £90.

I phoned the office on Tuesday 28 May in the morning to ask if there was availability for 2 places on a 3 day break for the end of June. I spoke to Zoe who took the details and told me she would enquire via a third party and would call me back. She advised me that the office was very busy as they had been closed the previous day (Bank Holiday) and it would probably be afternoon before she could get back to me. I said that was fine but as I hadn’t heard by 4 pm I called the office again. I spoke to a young man who confirmed my enquiry was on the list and sometimes it can take a couple of days to get back with a response to the customer but Zoe would call me the next day. I explained that if there was no availability then I wanted to book another trip instead and did not want to miss out on that trip whilst waiting for a response. I heard nothing all day yesterday and nothing so far today and they close for business in 30 minutes! A very poor standard of customer service, Sharon Wells

Went on the Lincoln day trip yesterday (Sunday 12th of May 2024).Blessed with lovely,sunny weather and temperatures,and a great experience overall.Great driver,very friendly and professional,and used excellent initiative in selcting an appropriate drop off and pick up point for us in the centre of Lincoln.Had a wonderful day,visited the beautiful Cathedral,which is up one of the steepest streets I've ever seen,but well worth the effort. Plenty of time to go exploring in the centre and as a bonus there was a cycling event on the day. Thoroughly recommended.
