Southern Halt - Liskeard

We stayed Good Friday to Easter Monday. We arrived a little later than check in time due to a chaotic m5 trip. When we got to Southern Halt we went straight to the lodge. We used the code provided to access the key box and on first impressions, the lodge was immaculate. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and we got a little welcome box with teabags, coffee sachets and biscuits, which was a nice touch.|We also had a little bottle of Cornish milk which was a nice touch.|Everything was explained in the welcome pack. We used the hot tub twice and it was easily turned on and off etc. The showers worked perfectly and good water pressure and the beds were very comfortable. |Towels and robes were provided, again all very clean and robes were useful for when getting in and out of the hot tub.|All the kitchen utensils and pots and pans were available to use, kitchen was well equipped and there were dishwasher tablets so that we could use the dishwasher multiple times.|Also the tv had smart apps so that we could use our own prime video, Netflix and YouTube accounts. |I was thoroughly impressed by the lodge, the views across the landscape and wildlife wandering into the garden were beautiful. |The location was good for our itinerary - we were 40 mins away from Eden Project and about 40mins from Newquay too. ||Overall, we had a fantastic stay. We will definitely return (we’ve been looking at dates for August already) and have recommended this lodge park to our friends and family already! Fantastic lodge with a couple of minor issues

Our overall stay was fantastic!

There were a few small downsides worth mentioning. Firstly, there was no net available to clear flies from the hot tub. We were told by the staff member who checked the hot tub daily that this was a site-wide issue, with no nets available at all. We ended up purchasing one ourselves and left it at the lodge for future guests to use.

While all the appliances were high-end and worked great, the cutlery and utensils were quite greasy and needed a thorough clean before we could use them. This may have been left by the previous guests, but ideally, it should have been checked and cleaned beforehand.

The seat cushions on the decking had clearly been left outside for a long time without being cleaned, and unfortunately, they had started to grow green moss. This meant we weren’t able to enjoy the outdoor seating as we had hoped.

The lodge advertisement mentioned three bedrooms, all with TVs, but upon arrival, we found there was no TV in the master en-suite bedroom. This was particularly disappointing as my disabled mum was staying in that room and had been looking forward to having a TV of her own.

Additionally, there were noticeable handprints on the TV and glass doors, especially visible when the sun hit them. A more thorough clean would definitely improve the first impression.

That said, the lodge is in a beautiful, peaceful area and the overall experience was still excellent. We’d definitely recommend it to others and would love to return in the future—despite the minor issues.

This is our 2nd time staying at southern halt we usually stay at their sister site stone rush which is also a nice place to stay. |We had an amazing time, lodge just amazing everything you need. Just so many great things about lodge to mention. So comfortable and spacious we stayed in faraway fields ||Location great so can visit lots of places in Cornwall. We visited inkies bbq and smokehouse. Food amazing. We also visited Looe, Charlestown, perranporth, healeys cider farm. |The staff so attentive at southern halt and check in on you during your stay via a call or email which is a nice touch. ||Hot tub amazing. We used it many time and the site is just so peaceful and quiet. ||We loved it so much we booked again in September. Highly recommend

We stayed at Southern Halt for a weekend getaway and absolutely loved it. The park is small, peaceful, and full of charm — we hardly saw or heard another guest during our stay, and even spotted rabbits hopping around, which the kids loved. It’s so quiet and calm, a real escape. (We also discovered a handy shortcut gate to the main road on our last day – worth knowing about!)||Customer service was excellent. We received a lovely phone call letting us know our lodge was ready earlier than expected, and another follow-up call the day after we arrived to check everything was okay and see if we needed anything. It was such a nice personal touch and made us feel really well looked after.||The lodge itself was spacious, luxurious, and very well equipped. The beds were large and super comfy, with lots of pillows and blankets. It was great to arrive to a few thoughtful extras like milk in the fridge, tea and coffee, and even a dishwasher tablet. Toiletries were provided in two of the three bathrooms too.||One of our highlights was definitely the hot tub — cleaned daily, and with stunning countryside views from the deck. Perfect for unwinding.||We had such a relaxing and comfortable stay — highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, high-quality retreat in Cornwall

9 meadow retreat is the one to stay at! What can I say, the entire lodge was absolutely beautiful! Upon arrival we were immediately impressed with the location of the lodge and how well maintained the grounds are. Opening the door to the lodge, we were even more impressed with the cleanliness and decor, our host even left a little birthday card, both of bubbly, and balloons for my others half's birthday. The room off of the main room is just magical, the spa tub and sauna really made our stay super relaxing and there is a built in TV above the tub too which was a great addition. We spent a lot of time in the cinema room, this turned out to be our favourite spot! There are 2 comfy recliners, a big flat screen, epic surround sound, and a cute little touch with LED stars in the ceiling. It was raining during our stay so we didn't get to enjoy the roof terrace but it is an amazing little spot on top of the lodge with wonderful views. The receptionist checked in with us the next morning to ensure everything was well and we had settled in which was such a lovely touch, and just shows how much effort goes into their customer service. We will absolutely be back for a longer stay. Thank you so much for making a birthday weekend everything I'd hoped for.

I never normally leave reviews but our stay was so lovely i feel it is only right that i leave one.
The lodge was fantastic. Spotlessly clean. It was so comfortable and had everything we could have needed for a long weekend stay. The hot tub was definitely an added bonus.
The ladies that i have dealt with (especially Sally) have been beyond helpful and so friendly. We will definitely be coming back to stay again.

Just got back from a Wonderful stay at Horizon View , Southern Halt. The receptionist was lovely and rang to let us know that our lodge was ready early so we were able to go into the lodge at 2.00pm . It was spotless so clean and welcoming with lovely views of the countryside . The Lodge was very spacious and had everything we needed. The hot tub was lovely after a day exploring beautiful Cornwall. The only gripe for us was the mattress was too soft so we didn’t find the bed very comfortable and we needed more pillows but that’s only our opinion and we will definitely book again we loved the location and the peace and quiet it was such a lovely relaxing break away thank you x

Stayed in no 14 horizon view. It did not have the views of some of the others but was spacious and private. Hot tub amazing, outdoor furniture was a little tired. Inside rooms were spacious, clean, well equipped, beds really comfortable.
Needed a little tlc in places but as a base for exploring Cornwall great.
