The customer service and care today, from the Norwich airport branch was second to none! Despite no car, via motability scheme, within 2 ours they sourced one, and, had me on my way with an MG SUV. Despite a lack of communication in the circle, Europcar really went above and beyond for me today. Thank you!

I am getting scammed by Europcar. I drove 64 miles on a 200 mile limit and fuelled up the car to the brim paying £14.62 for a 11 litres of fuel 5 mins before dropping the car off at the Norwich airport (petrol station right outside the airport). I am getting charged for additional fuel that you had to put in & extra 4 miles as apparently I drove 204 miles - when I have the returning report from Europcar saying its 64 miles I have driven. I have photos/ evidences. I went to your Aberdeen branch and they said they cannot do anything. Lovely customer service.

I have been using the Europcar Norwich Airport branch for a couple of years, and the service keeps getting better every time. I had a terrible experience with this company. We have a waited nearly a week for a hire car and every time they say it's going to be delivered nothing arrives. So much time has been wasted on the phone and waiting around for the car arrives. Originally they promised within 3 days. Then I was promised a kia by 5pm on Friday, then I was promised an automatic between 10 and 11am on Saturday. Now I am told noon on Monday nearly a week later!! I have disabled daughter who needs transport. Not impressed. Shocking Service!!

Have used Europcar Norwich airport regularly over the last 7 years, with latest hire on 13/1/25. Prices have consistently been lower than other companies in the terminal and cars in good condition. Staff always friendly and efficient and pick up /drop off straightforward. I’ve read some poor reviews here, but my own experience of Europcar has been consistently positive and I would recommend them.

Awful experience.
Incorrect size van. Painful time consuming process to get a van anywhere close to the size I booked. Charged for excess miles after inaccurate pick up miles recorded.
Needed to move furniture 2.45m in length. Booked a medium size van internal length 2.93m on website. Went on live chat to confirm that if it was a “similar van” it would still be the same internal length.
Was told the length on the website was an error, but all their medium vans are 2.862m so it would be that.
I was emailed less than 2 days before pick up, after free cancellation period advising the van was 1.75m. This was below the amount I needed so called customer services. They said this is an error and I would get the van I needed.
Contacted the Norwich office to double check, they said it was extremely unlikely they’d have a van I needed, but would “upgrade” me to a larger van. The larger van was no use, as in excess of the maximum weight limit for my licence. This was initially dismissed, then accepted that this was correct, I was told I would get a smaller van. I asked to confirm that this would be a minimum of 2.5m in internal length, they said they couldn’t guarantee this. I explained that it has to be 2.5m or it’s not use to me. I was told they’d call me back. Six hours later following receiving no call back I chased. Was told they had managed to get a van and it would be 2.5m in length. A total of 7 calls and 45 minutes on the phone.
Picked up the van fine, no issue with the van, it was 2.5m in length, although not the 2.862m I had initially booked. This meant due to the angle the seats came out at I needed to do an extra trip as the furniture needed to be on its back, rather than on its side, so only 1 could fit at a time rather than 2. This added 2 hours and 45 miles to my day.
I could have ignored all this, but to top it off. Returned the van and was emailed a statement of return. The pick up miles were incorrect. I contacted to explain and sent a photo as evidence. I was told that it didn’t matter as they hadn’t been charged. The following day I received an invoice confirming the charge for the miles which I didn’t drive.

I had checked online to see if there was cars available and there was. Due to disturbing flights I decided to wait until I arrived to make the hire. On arrival, at 16.50 (over an hour before closing) I asked about a hire, the lady on desk was less than helpful, her words were if you don't have a booking then we don't have any cars available and stated that you need to book more than two hours in advance. Now, I was in desperate need of a vehicle and there was no attempt to help in anyway. This policy that you can't turn up and hire a car is diabolical. I then proceeded to Avis, who were absolutely brilliant in trying to help and even managed to give me an upgrade. I can safely say I won't be using Europcar ever again with poor services.

It’s impossible to get in touch with Europcar. When your flights are canceled, and you arrive during the day on the weekend, no one is available, and reaching Europcar is nearly impossible. This was my first experience with Europcar, and it will definitely be my last.
