Edit: At least you admit it, loving the new customer service vibe! šŸ”„

FirstBus is a real mixed bag. Generally I criticise them heavily for their many flaws and failures, which I will get onto in a minute, but there are some positives, such as a relatively new fleet (although I doubt they would have invested in them without the government subsidies), and a few friendly drivers. Specifically the one that always asks how my day is and how my grandparents are, and the one that looks like Kier Stamer with arm tattoos. Also they have made vague improvements to the frequency of their services in recent years (Especially the X29), but once again these would not have happened without the bus improvement funding from Norfolk County council.
Apart from these I generally find their services to be insanely unreliable, overpriced (especially as most days tickets have nearly doubled in price in the last 3 years), and generally their customer service is very unresponsive, and seems to hardly know their own services (Perhaps because they are based in Leeds. Norfolk County Council needs to implement London/Manchester style franchising system if they want people to keep using buses in Norfolk (And also sort out the many problems with the Fusion bus ticket).

My phone stopped working on Friday morning and I had my bus pass on it. I went to the First bus office on Castle Meadow to ask if there was a way I could be provided with a physical ticket before I sorted my phone out and before I could get the words out, the terrible receptionist, who wasn't even the one I walked up to initially said they couldn't do anything, at the office, i'd have to call a number and gave me a card. I was going to ask what phone I should use to do that but decided not to so as not to be rude. Only to call the number today when one of my housemates came home and got access to a phone. I called the number she'd told me to call and found out you don't actually talk to a person, it just sends a text message containing a link to their website. I am very upset and appaled by such terrible customer service. She didn't try in any way to help, maybe it's her being a terrible person or maybe she's following equally terrible company advice, whatever it is, thank you first bus for destroying my weekend and taking my money.

I suggest that. If you don't use the 25 bus, I'll be 20 minutes late for work every day because the bus never comes on time never never. Just working for money

Recently had several bus routes (39 & 38) pull their early morning times due to a lack of drivers and what First say, is mainly caused by low passenger numbers? I stand by my decision to not drive or own a car. My bit towards lowering the carbon footprint. Yet times like this make it very hard to get behind First Buses as a method of getting to and from work when I’m rolling in at all kinds of times due to the unpredictable presence of the buses. New business model needed I think.

Terrible service. Often have busses late or just never turning up. The bus I get is frequently used by the elderly to get to appointments at the N&N and by people commuting to college or work. Often there are no alerts put up on the website or X (twitter) page to make people aware. Hope it gets nationalised in the future because at least then you can vote for someone to make it better. Currently you make a complaint and get given a nonsense reason. If you can get a train or another companies service I definitly would.

Busses are almost always late X2 X22 or x21. I have had to start using Taxies because of how unreliable they are.

The one time this year i decided to use a buss again from Thurton to Norwich it is 25minutes late. Safe to say I will have to stay using to taxies.

As a student I have to use the bus to get to and from school everyday on this bus service. My bus only runs 1x per hour, however somehow it is always a 50/50 chance as to whether it will actually show up and be less than 10 minutes late. Luckily I have some leniency as there is a 50 minute gap between bus due and Class staring, however somehow, within the space of one week (the week of mocks might i just add) every single morning it missed the stop completely, didn't show up, was 25 minutes late or went on a completely different route. For how expensive even the student tickets are you would've thought it would be a bit more reliable but no. I don't think that you should have to sacrifice your grades or academics just because you are unable to get in on a service that should get you in easily
