I thought a self guided box tour from Embark as a birthday present for a friend and it was the perfect gift! We did the walk as a group, with the route tailored to our ability and fitness levels. Knowing this had been planned out for us in advance gave all of us the confidence to just enjoy the day! Added bonus of helpful walking tips and things to look out for on our way! Excellent value for money and a great day out. ?

Cannot recommend Embark enough - got a box for my partner a few months back who is admittedly a lot more active and ‘outdoorsy’ than I am.
I was a little apprehensive, with myself being a beginner - however there was absolutely no need - the box was perfect - detailing every aspect of our journey and what was upcoming - what difficulty etc so we knew when I’d need that extra push of motivation..knowing what beauties were upcoming made the world of difference and stopped (almost) all of my little strops along the way. Honestly Embark truly surpassed expectations - even including the little compass which I robbed for myself because I just LOVED it.
Emma was also so friendly and helpful with any little query I had, she went above and beyond to make the experience magical. We have booked on to one of the embark tours because of how impressed we were with the box and cannot wait - counting down the days!!

I purchased a self guided box tour from Embark Travel and was not disappointed! The tour was such good value for money and gave me the confidence and the motivation to get out and explore Mam Tor, Derbyshire independently. The box tour provided information and maps regarding many rural beauty spots in the area which I thoroughly enjoyed exploring throughout the day. Great buy! 🙂

I was so pleasantly surprised at the content of the self guided tour box I received from Embark. The maps and information are all laminated - perfect for UK weather, and means the kit can be used again and again. The step-by-step guides provide such clear instruction, and all the required information for all abilities and levels of experience is included. There is even a little compass! It makes for a perfect gift or idea for a group activity, and I’m excited to give some of the other routes a go. 10/10! Thanks so much.

Last week we visited the Lake District, as I wanted to see the Red Deer in rutting season. Mark knew exactly where to find them, and as we got nearer, we could hear their roars echo around the valley. Through binoculars, we watched the stags round up the females as Mark did his best David Attenborough impersonation, detailing the show. He wasn’t wrong, as I spotted another stag sneaking in, fancying his chances of stealing the larger stag’s females.
We continued on the upwards journey and kept to the pace I set, which was nice as it was hard work! Eventually we reached the top of the first fell which was ‘The Knott’. The view from here was stunning and as we tucked into our sandwiches, Mark explained the story of Alfred Wainwright, pointing out the different names of each of the fells along the horizon.
It was a pleasurable day out, bagging my first three ‘Wainwrights’ and covering a distance of 11 miles. I’m looking forward to more trips and in particular seeing the Peak District Hares in their white winter coats.

Best box ever....from the moment I opened my box I could see the level of attention and knowledge had been used to create it, kit for the walk small and large instructions and clear and easy to understand.....we dont get lost often but for once it was nice knowing this time we weren't going to get lost.
