On the 16th September 2024 my Wife and I set off on what Woods Travel Limited called "Hebridean Odyssey", on the 20th September we were due to catch a Ferry from North Uist to the Isle of Harris but due to the Foggy conditions all three of the Morning Ferries were cancelled, Woods managed to find a hotel to accommodate us for the night at the Benbecula House Hotel, 21st September very early start on the Coach by 5am to get to the Ferry for 7am, unfortunately it was Foggy conditions again and again all 3 Ferry crossings to Harris were Cancelled, instead of booking us back in the Benbecula House Hotel (a note had been left on the table where we left our keys to say if the the Ferries are cancelled See you later), Woods decided to book us on a larger Ferry back over to the Isle of Skye (so re tracing our journey) Woods had decided to book us into the Gairloch Highland Lodge on the Scottish Main Land, we had approximately a 4 hour non stop Journey after leaving the Ferry, driving in the dark down what appeared to be Country Lanes with passing points, finally arriving at approximately 10pm, after filling out forms in the Hotel for the following mornings Breakfast, carrying our cases up to our rooms We finally got into bed at 11:45pm close to 20 hours awake in my view Totally Unacceptable.
I sent a Email to Woods Travel Limited on our return complaining about the Choice they had made on the 21st September, telling them that our Driver had been on the go for longer than ourselves and that we had been made aware that the 21st should have been his day off for Legal reasons, as well as the ordeal they had put us through, their reply said they had not acted illegally and gave me a full account of the phone calls they had made and how they had pleaded with the Ferry Companies etc, not once was there any Compassion for the ordeal we had been put through, most of the passengers were OAP'S
Woods Travel Limited still owe us for the meal we had on the Ferry back to the Isle of Skye £15 each
