Average camp site, basic but clean. In need of modernisation in places but has satisfactory facilities. My only real nag is the swimming pool is NOT heated like advertised so my family were really unable to use it as it was far too cold, freezing! According to long term tenants it has not been heated for due quite a period of time now. |Overall not a bad site, average

We’ve been twice 2017 and have just came back.. I still like it as a base for camping it’s ideal for us, quiet, the field for August camping was empty whether by uk holiday affordability now or site I don’t know… the pitches have been levelled now thankfully, 2017 they were not which I was concerned about as we have a bigger tent I’m rubbish at pitching uneven, has always been a slight uphill to the toilet that feels like forever when you need the loo but that’s what toilet tents are for with kids…pitches are large and a park we did see other kids damage in areas which was a shame but that’s parental supervision needed, the park needs a little update to cater for smaller ones even toddlers like to play, the shop is no longer there I don’t know why but I did think that if the club could cook and sell takeout sweets etc maybe they could sell the very basics too milk bread butter it’s just needs a hatch a a time slot opening hour or so… the one toilet block doors have been refurbished but inside is still old and needs to be done serviceable we call the loo roll holder the toilet tickle’ trying to get some out off the roll was a drama and events in the club house would leave empty rolls late and early morning, I understand water waste but a 20 second water press needs a minute you would appreciate it more and be out in three instead of staying longer you get more done that way especially if showering kids, they had a kids club of sorts but we never used it, the clubhouse was friendly but busy staff, on seating 2 people saving 10 seats for the seasonal who turn up half hour later we did give up after going twice however it sounded good when you went to the loo at night, bingo quiz music quiet nights theme nights, pool was heated on a red hot day if you get used to it I thought it was cold personally, staff were great, grounds were well maintained, we loved the area for bat watching the owls, toads, rabbits the kids loved it searching late night. An honest review but we are not all singing campers have done this for 30+ years , yes in a tent I know what to expect hot, cold, wet, dry, see you next year. We still love it

Just not my kind of place and caters more for the elderly, we had our 6 Yr old son with us. It was a fair distance to use the toilets and showers. We were there for the coronation. It's really nothing special at all, the owners could do with upgrading their facilities as they are basic, to say the least. That being said, we had a great holiday, just not on this caravan site. Also, there is a basic, no heating, very old fashioned with no money put In to Improve this place probably since It first opened, the clubhouse reminded me of the run down pubs from the 80s.
A experience that I would not want to have again however we found another site to put our caravan on.

We booked at this site last minute and it was the best choice we made! Made to feel welcome from the start, the park is super clean all round, food from the cafe take away was amazing and huge portions! All staff was friendly and so helpful, they work there socks off keeping the place running as well as there farm and kennels near by, the swimming pool and area was clean at all times, they made you feel part of the widend family by the end of our week, I have no complaints what so ever and because of that we have rebooked for next year and looking to get a seasonal pitch too! Well done to julie and team for everything you do! Can’t wait to see you next year x

Park is clean, very quiet and well ordered. Too quiet for me. Dogs allowed. Lovely walks. Pool warm but dated. Changing rooms and wash facilities clean. I rated this a three because there is nothing there. Cafe open on request? Shop open on request? Bus service? I don't think so, so if you want to visit the nearby zoo for example, you have to take your car. Site too dull for me and I'm 67.

Reading andrews b comments is like staying at another venue completely we stayed for 10 nights and never had a bad experience except with the groundsman who has a grudge against his job he thinks it’s ok to ride round on scooters when kids are about he stood talking in the pool with me for over an hour trying to convince me to put bad reviews on social media but my experiences and my kids experiences were not bad staff were friendly and toilets and showers were clean in a modern block at the top end of the park but not at the bottom near the pool we’re they need updating whoever cleaned them on a regular basis needed to be shown how to clean assuming they weren’t cleaned by the same people as those at the top end. . The shop area is an office amongst it a takeaway we’re the food is good and customer service was good and food was hot when it arrrived bar was busy on bingo nights as you would expect but only waited a bout 7-8 mins when we first arrived. It’s only a small bar but adequate for the park with seating outside if you don’t want to be part of the bingo clan. I have 2 teenagers and they loved the pool and were served at the kids end of the bar by a young girl who was capable of dealing with a queue 2 blokes behind bar most of the time and kept up with the punters once the initial rush was over one sold bingo tickets and called the bingo and then there were the entertainment which was good apart from Monday when they had a kids entertainer who did exactly the same both weeks. But did make the kids feel welcome. Overall rating of the park was good and we were not hassled by the owners or the staff apart from jobs worth man on a scooter who really thinks he’s important but thankfully he tells us he’s only there this year so it will be safe to return next year

The site, despite being quite basic, was a perfect base to explore North Devon.||Really impressed with the size of our pitch, which comfortably fitted a touring caravan, small tent, 2 cars and still had ample space for 6yo to play and for us to sit out during the day/evening.||Swimming pool was clean and perfect size and was rarely too busy. ||My only main gripes were the closures of the main toilets and shower blocks between 11am and 1pm, not too much a cause for concern, but on a couple of days it was a mild inconvenience.|Also, I think the club house could do with a little modernisation and a little more entertainment. That being said, we didn't venture over much, instead heading out most evenings.||I wouldn't pick it as somewhere you could spend all day, every day if you have kids (apart from the pool, there is very little for them), but it is a perfect base. Paignton is only 10 minutes drive with Torquay and Brixham only 15/20 minutes. We even managed a trip to Port Isaac which only took 90 minutes, but Bude and Exeter would only take an hour.

We booked very last minute and were really happy that they could accommodate us at such short notice. Clean washrooms and showers, beautifully kept site and a very friendly welcome. The only minor hitch was the onsite shop appeared to be either closed or put of provisions. It could simply be that the season isnt fully underway and, in our case, very minor or detail, there are plenty of places nearby to stock up on provisions. Would definitely recommend and we look forward to returning
