I apologise too Whitehead caravan park.
It's the little village hall complete with bell tower.
The church is
St Nicholas.
In the quiet village of
East Chaldon.
Which I think was the village school...
My mother attended a school like this one of eight pupils in a village this size ,in rodden.
And the church..
The noise from the rooks in the trees was deafening..
Always find rooks ,around country churches.
Because the trees have not been lopped.
A place too sit a while..
With a thermos.
And good company...x

Great week spent here, staff are really on it! In a really good way, Which is great bins allways emptied, toilets allways stocked amd clean, small shop that has the esentials,
One night a few very young kids were up running around gone 11pm and the nxt day the staff walked around very politly reminding all pitches about noise levels which was very reasureing when having yr owm young kids.

Short walk to lovly views along the river, theres a gd pub a hop over the railway line as well.

Whitemead Caravan Park is a lovely stop for a motorhome but there are lots of seasonal pitches taken up. Warden Shane showed us to our pitch, he told us where everything was and answered all of our questions about visiting the area. We had a hardstanding pitch on the pebbles with lovely views, the water table was quite high when we arrived so we had ducks waddling around. The shower block is clean and tidy with hot showers, we found that the whole site is clean and tidy. The people on reception were helpful and friendly too. Entry is by telephone and key codes which makes it nice and secure too. Dogs are welcome here. Close to the train line but we didn't notice it. This site is very convenient for visiting Lulworth Cove. Would stay here again, lovely site.

Beautiful touring caravan site.
From start to finish is are week away was just perfect.
Arriving at the site, Staff were super friendly and so welcoming.
Hardstanding pitch was clean and a good size. Facilities were spotless and always smelt so clean.
The site is in a fantastic location Monkey world and Tank Museum 10 min drive.
2 pubs within 5-10 minute walk. The Ship in is just over the train track, it’s dog friendly and serves great food.
The black bear is just down the road also very good.
Lulworth Cove is also a 10 min drive away, and so worth a visit.
The river Frome runs just behind the caravan site, so there are so absolutely amazing walks.
This is site is just perfect for families, couples or anyone who wants a relaxing stress free break away.
We will definitely go back.

Second time we’ve stayed here and the only campsite we have ever returned too because the facilities are soo good. A simple, family feel and friendly camp site. The cleanest and well maintained bathroom facilities I have ever seen. Never a problem. Not the quietest with the surroundings but not really an issue, some night we went to sleep with the sound of Tanks on manovereres and some morning woke to the sound of monkeys - brilliant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our XL pitch was massive!

If I had to find something to improve on. Maybe more than one hand dryer in the men’s toilets perhaps? Maybe recycling bins along side the normal bins out by the pitches?

We will be back next year 👍

At over £51.50 ( caravan + porch awning) per night you expect something special! Dogs extra. However even hard standings flood. Welcomed by very good staff who use the small tractor to get you on or off the pitches. Then you get a visit from the grumpy site owner who slags off the staff and announces the electric is only 10amps!
At 10amps people were constantly tripping the electricity. Some more inexperienced visitors leaving the heating on 2kw during the night were obviously tripping through the night as temperatures dropped.
Don’t know if there are security issues but toilet block gets locked early evening and only accessible by coded lock.
Best thing is that in the village there is an excellent Chinese take away
