The chap at the visitor centre was friendly and knowledgeable.

The cafe is staffed by super friendly people and the cream tea is lush (thanks for the generous cream!)

The meadows though are the star of the show! I have grown up in the countryside and haven’t seen meadows with such a variety of flora since childhood. The fields were buzzing with grasshoppers, pollinators and lots of beautiful butterflies.

Also we saw a kingfisher whilst sat near the stream behind the cafe - signposted ‘boardwalk’.

It really was a joy to visit and we had several super restorative hours immersed in nature.
Thanks to everyone who works in this reserve.
For free this is really incredible … but we left a donation because the reserve is priceless.

A delightful walk over farm land , got up close with some very friendly cows and saw roe deer bouncing over the fields , the short walk is easy but slight inclines on the longer route . The washrooms are immaculate with hand gel as well as soap . Such a shame we couldn't use the cafe , all staff we met were extremely friendly and very helpful . Definitely a hidden gem , we look forward to a return visit

Very interesting, lots of walks through the beautiful country and fields. Make sure you wear good, strong shoes and are 'fairly' fit.
Restaurant serves lovely food with extensive outside seating.
It is free to enter, but a donation is always gratefully received as it is a charitable organisation. Am planning to return very soon.
