Absolutely wonderful location. Beautiful scenery and the perfect holiday location. We’ve been to almost all Forest holiday locations and this is one of the best. Loads of great walks and the forest is so big you can just walk and walk.

The staff however…I’ve never seen such miserable people. This is the worst staff team I’ve ever come across. We went to a quiz which could have been great fun but it was run by the most bored staff member on earth. The food and coffee is awful and the general attitude of everyone you meet is negative.

Maybe forest holidays need to give their staff a pay rise because moral here is shot!

Have stayed here a good few times now and I would recommend it but would say you need to be prepared. You can’t compare this place to Center Parcs as they are both very different. This place is quite tranquil with very little to do on site, but they do offer many activities but you may have to venture off site. We always visit local pubs and enjoy nice lunches. The Nags Head in East Harling and The Crown in Great Ellingham are a must visit. The lodges are nice but they do need some better maintenance. We paid for the Premium WiFi which includes movies and cast to tv. However this was not available on the first night as the chrome cast device had been unplugged and left under the TV. It clearly wasn’t checked before we arrived. It’s also worth noting that the hot tubs are not accessible on the first night. Every time I have stayed here the hot tub has been cold the first night. There is a sticker that tells you what time it will be ready but every time we have stayed it’s never at temperature on the first night. You also need to take cleaning supplies with you as the kitchen is not as clean as you would like it. We wiped off sticky sauces from the table and work surfaces on arrival. This time we also had to clean the chairs in the kitchen as they were full of crumbs and greasy finger marks. The beds are ok but you can roll over on a spring at times so be prepared! Despite the issues we do like it here and would stay again but know what to expect on arrival. Also not the owner/manager doesn’t often comment on negative reviews only the positive!

First time visit and went as a couple we hired Golden Oak was lovely inside and out and the hottub was by far our favourite to use! Lovely walks all around the complex the only thing I feel it does lack is the lack of activities there are for families and couples to do during the winter time. Customer service and all staff members were very attentive to all our needs and were lovely to speak to.

Best way to start the year. Cabin clean and cosy. Every member of staff i spoke to were friendly and helpful. To have my morning coffee in the hot tub looking out onto the forest, hearing the birds, seeing squirrels in the trees and monkjacks walking through was amazing.

Had a lovely time with the family for 3 nights.|Stayed in cabin 61 which was well equipped and well situated, backing on to the forest.|The facilities were excellent and the staff were very friendly.|Whilst we had a great time I was disappointed by the extras that you have to pay for which I feel should be included.|1. Check in time, this seems to be purposely late (4pm) so that you pay extra for early check in, our cabin was not available until around 4.30pm|2. Wifi and TV package is extra.|3. Its stated as a dog friendly site, to be honest if you don't have a dog you look out of place, however, you have to pay £15 per dog per night, this is ridiculous.|4. If you choose your cabin, again you have to pay extra, this one I didn't really mind but again surely it should be first come first pick of the cabin of your choice.||Again, we had a great time but I would not return to the forest holidays locations because of the extras they add on.

I'm still here and feel the need to share our experience.
My son has just come home from deployment for 2 weeks and this is a special time for us.
We didn't know what to expect, but it was much cheaper than Centre Parks and we didn't want too much noise as we are all adults.
Absolutely dog friendly. In the shop, restaurant and all of the grounds.
To have a professional hot tub, full underfloor heating and a beautiful home to stay in, is unmeasurable.
We were blown away by our cabin.
I was expecting so much less for the money we paid. Not this beautiful huge building with lovely bedrooms, great beds and bedding. Full kitchen with dishwasher and so many plates, cups, etc etc. Microwave, cooker, sink with complementary pack to wash.
The bathrooms have complimentary L'occitaine.
Full bath towels. Toilet rolls.
JUST EVERYTHING!
The underfloor heating is pretty special.
The bathrooms are clean, full hot water and lovely huge soft towels.
Everything up clean and tidy, bedding is wonderful.
A young man comes by everyday to check the hot tub.
Value for money is exceptional. Going by the facilities, personal hot tub and a huge home to stay in.

We are planning our next stay. We have been blown away. X

Had a wonderful weekend away with the family (6 adults and 2 children aged 2 & 4). The lodge we stayed in had enough space for 3 cars, it was spacious inside particularly the kitchen table that sat us all comfortably for meal times and when playing games, it was also really clean and homely with a nice fireplace. We spent a lot of time in the hot tub which was really modern and cleaned daily. We also hired bikes for 2 days and enjoyed riding around the forest. There is a shop / cafe on site which we visited each afternoon for a coffee, and also a play area. I saw posters for a quiz night also but we didn’t go to that. There aren’t too many other activities and things going on but this suited what we wanted for the weekend. Would definitely return here.

What a wonderful place. So much to do if you want to be active but also such a relaxing atmosphere if you just want to relax and unwind. Went with friends for the weekend. Our cabin had a hot tub. We had a spa day in the cabin one day, very relaxing then we did archery and pottery art another day. Restaurant is nice. Staff are so welcoming. Especially Amy she catered for all our needs and was so cheerful, helpful and funny. A great asset to the company along with Greg who tried to teach us archery! 😂 He never gave up. Would definitely recommend and will be returning again next year. Fab weekend.
