Came here to blow the cobwebs away on a Wednesday in February during term time with a 4 year old.

It's great! Parking was easy...it is £12 for the day so not the cheapest but nothing you can do about it.

The Welcome Centre and toilets are all welcoming and clean.

We did the Stick Man trail and the Gruffalo Trail and both were fun and engaging for our 4 year old, plenty to do but not too big it was a pain in the bum. The activity packs were fun and the lanyard for the Stick Man was a big hit.

The activity playground bits were fun and fine for our 4 year old with minimal help. The new bit behind the Welcome Centre was pretty cool, seemed very inclusive with ramps to access it and wide paths. Although we did notice a piece of wood come off with nails sticking out, it was quite high up but definitely climbable. We informed staff and they said they would send someone straight to fix it.

Cafe was clean and inviting to stop off for a bit of cake and the heating covered bit outside was lovely.

We didn't do any of the activities but we'll definitely be back with a picnic in the summer, and maybe keep an eye on the clock to pay smaller parking charges.

Our favourite place at the moment! Great walk/run/bike trails, fab cafe/coffee/ice cream, clean and large toilet facilities and lots of parking.

The trails are just beautiful and we love going out to get lost for an hour or two - paths are well marked so you can easily find your way back to the visitors centre.

It’s perfect for a family day with young kids also - awesome play area and field for picnics, with frisbee, go ape and a gruffalo trail making it perfect for all ages!

Did the 4.8km walk. Well marked route which took us into peaceful areas of the woods and past the trenches emulating those in WW1. Now the woods are gradually being planted with more diverse species - fingers crossed more birds will result. Back to the on site cafe where we chose a simple but beautifully prepared lunch.
Just watch out for the car parking charges. For the 3 or so hours we spent there expected around £5/6.....but it was £10.50. Didn't check the tariffs but nowhere else to park anyway but this seemed pretty steep.

Really nice place, beautiful place.

We hired bikes. Bought a coffee and cakes. Our daughter played at the park. The ride was good.

Overall a very good day out we enjoyed it very much.

Little expensive in my view but a good day. Would come back when she's a little older.

Price of parking is a little steep but worth it for a few hours if you're a cyclist or a keen walker. Ranger trail recommended for a long walk through the forest.

My family and I are regular visitors here, it's always a treat! Plenty of parking (currently £11 for the day) and excellent facilities! The MTB and walking trails are fantastically maintained by the Forestry Commission, and the cafe serves THE best chorizo sausage rolls on earth!

I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who loves the outdoors. There's also a Go Ape centre, but we've never used it as we're too busy tearing up the Blue and Red trails 😄

Great place to ride bikes or have a walk. Plenty of different routes to suit all abilities and a nice little pump track. It's really clean and plenty of parking. New cashless park system is good and makes life easy too. There is a cafe and cycle hire is needed and also other outdoor activities. Give it a go.
