We stayed at Forest Holiday’s Sherwood Pines 4 bedroom lodge for four nights over NYE. The lodge was lovely but not very clean. The lounge floors were so dirty, we went to clean them ourselves but the mop didn’t even have a mop head on it. My child’s socks were very black and we had to wear shoes the rest of the time. ||The hot tub took a night and day to warm up but once warm it was lovely. They came daily to look after it. ||There was not much to do other than archery and a small shop/bar/restaurant. Considering it’s a similar price to Centre Parcs I would prefer to stay there instead as much more to do. The staff were very nice and helped out at all times. We did the quiz night which was fun. ||Would I go back? No I don’t think I would. If you are looking for walks and nothing to do then this is the place but not great for kids. We had a lovely time but not worth the money.

We stayed for 4 nights over Christmas in a 3 bed golden oak cabin. When we arrived check in was quick and the staff were really friendly. The cabin was lovely, lots of space and loved the high ceilings. The hot tub is maintained daily which is great and a team member popped over to check everything was OK and if we needed anything extra for the festive period. |There was a welcome hamper and a roasting tray along with a Christmas card and a tree decoration. |All cabins had a Christmas tree but as we had our cats with us, we had to ask for it to be removed due to real trees being toxic. This was done prior to our arrival and we were so thrilled that this had been accommodated for us. |Every morning squirrels would be on the decking and the whole stay felt very special, the cabins are spaced out well in the forest so you don't feel on top of each other. |We had a slight issue with the coffee machine but were shown what had happened and all worked fine. |There was a dog toy and a half chewed treat under the settee but this didn't bother us as we cleaned the floor. |The underfloor heating was great although too warm for us but we did use the log burner. |Enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year and planning to try the activities. |

Andy was absolutely awesome as our airsoft rifle instructor! He made everything super easy to understand, even for beginners like us and his enthusiasm for the sport was contagious. He was super patient, always encouraging, and had great tips to help us improve. Whether you were new or experienced, he made sure everyone felt included and had fun even in the snow! His knowledge really made the session enjoyable, and we all walked away feeling more confident and skilled. If you’re looking for an instructor who knows their stuff and makes it a blast, please ask for Andy’s when booking when staying at the facility!

Drove to York for the day, absolutely amazing, next day Lincoln to see the stunning history.
Rustic lodges in a stunning location, just perfect for us that appreciate lives most beautiful pleasures- peace, walking with our 4 legged friends and most importantly family times ☺️☺️

I was very nervous having read a couple of previous reviews, however my fears were unfounded. The accommodation was exceptionally clean. Everything was in working order , while the accommodation is functional, it is comfortable, cosy, the log burner a bonus. The kitchens were well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. It was very warm it was great with the underfloor heating. Loved sitting in the hot tub and having a drink. Highly recommend would most definitely return. The staff in the forest retreat were kind and very helpful. Only criticism is the pillows, which are not great so just stick your own pillows in your car. Very good value for money if you have four adults sharing

We have just come home from a long weekend at Sherwood Pines Forest Holidays. Overall we had the best time. Such a beautiful setting, the cabin we had was great. We loved all the walks and access to the forest nearby and being a short drive to Sherwood Forest nature reserve and Edwinstowe. The customer care was very good. Our cabin wasn’t available straightaway, so they looked after us from a customer experience perspective including a complimentary drink and refunded us our media packaged. We went off to the Coop in Edwinstowe to buy our food for the weekend. We got into the cabin and could immediately tell it was clean. A really strong smell of disinfectant, which was a little off putting, but it made us feel it was clean, and it really was - spotless and so tidy. They’d done a great job. All the bedding and towels were lovely and plentiful. The hot tub was warm and ready! Sadly the WiFi code didn’t work so we needed to go back to reception, this was soon rectified. When opening the main room curtain on our first morning, the rail was loose and came away from the bracket and knocked my head, luckily no harm done. I reported it at reception and they apologised and sent someone to look into it. There’s no fault in their customer service. We had a good experience. Our only gripe is in the bed wasn’t hugely comfortable or ‘luxury’, would also say that the kitchen items and sofa is all starting to feel tired and not the luxury feel you’d hope for. If we would say to change anything it’s the main bed. I’ve slept better in a Premier Inn. They have invested in new mattresses. I’d say our thin mattress was past its best! Time to consider upgrading. Sleep is the one thing we didn’t feel we got during our time away because the mattress wasn’t great. Otherwise - loved our trip! Thanks to the team at Sherwood!

We have stayed previously at Thorpe Forest and booked a golden Hyde at Sherwood last minute as Thorpe had sold out. What a location for an Autumnal weekend! The area is beautiful with herds of deer (of which I'd never seen this variety before) walking amongst the lodges. Sherwood pines is a short walk away which has the most amazing one-way bike trials (you can hire bikes) and woodland walks. Although we didn't want to leave our lovely lodge, with its log burner and relaxing hob tub.||The lodge itself was very cosy, must be well insulated because the underfloor heating only needed to be on an hour and it stayed warm all evening. Rooms clean, beds were comfortable and showers powerful. In the autumn/winter you really don't feel the presence of others staying on the site (as we noticed in the Summer) it was so quiet. We paid for the entertainment package so we could play games consoles as a family in the evenings and watch movies and this worked well. We didn't use take out, we brought a lot of food with us (there is a co-op 10 min drive away). Staff in the forest retreat really welcoming and helpful.||A few small issues (but not going to mark down for it given how much we enjoyed the weekend), kitchen didn't have all the utilities listed on the website (most people wouldn't notice but we were making meals from scratch), the BBQ was dirty and empty of gas (obviously thought no-one would use it in the winter but we cooked our breakfast on it) shower screen didn't work well enough and got the floor soaked.|But all in all, small things. Can't wait to return.

Great location and hot tub was great but rooms ok but could of been better.
Kitchen very dated appliances microwave didn't work properly same as dishwasher and oven dirty and door didn't shut properly lost lots of heat when cooking and was burning the kitchen cupboard next to it.
Plate cups glass and bowls knives and forks all needed cleaning before use.
Holes in sofas and bedding,damp water patch in one bedroom.
BBQ didn't work properly low gas or no gas wouldn't get hot enough to cook on.
We had one toilet roll for ten of us on arrival but did get give more by staff.
Don't bother getting the welcome hamper paid £68.50 not worth the money you get cheap stuff sent it back still waiting for refund a week later.Take all you need for your stay it will cost you a fortune in there shop.
I must say it is good for outdoor activities nearby and the archery was great.
This was a surprise 60th weekend with the family paid a lot off money for lodge No 9 Sherwood pines sleeps 10.
Very disappointed won't be returning.
