Mallard lodge , brickyard lakes
Overall nice staycation for couples wouldn’t recommend for family’s as quite area,not much activities close by, lodge was dated could do with a more homely feeling and a revamp as is slightly dated,couch was very uncomfortable hard and sunken.Although hot tub is an amazing feature to this lodge and our stay we really enjoyed this. The lodge lacks a few essentials that are usually given at other holiday homes I would recommend bringing own pans if staying for a few days as only 1 small one is provided. Along with no cleaning products such as a hoover and spray. Would recommend this place for couples weekend away no longer than 2-3 nights. Is around a 45/50 minute drive to York centre and trainstation around 10 minutes drive away. There was no welcome package or little essentials given such as tea bags/coffee sachets which is usually a nice touch to arrive too. I would say it is a little over priced for what you get as very basic and not much provided, but lovely stay as we made the most of our time away.

Easy reservation. Great communication. Highly recommend this place. Fantastic location and facilities with wonderful friendly, welcoming and helpful owners. An amazing stay in a property where the owners have obviously put a fantastic amount of care and effort into ensuring an excellent stay for their guests at High Park House.

We had a horrible experience. I must express my profound disappointment with the management team of this property. From the moment we attempted to check in, it was clear that their level of professionalism and customer service was severely lacking. Our interactions with the property manager, Lisa, were nothing short of abysmal. Not only was she rude and dismissive, but she also displayed a shocking level of dishonesty. When we brought up legitimate concerns about the condition of the property, including the presence of black mold, stains throughout the kitchen, and an unpleasant odor, instead of addressing these issues, she resorted to baseless accusations and outright hostility. It was evident that Lisa lacked the basic skills necessary to effectively manage a property and interact with guests in a respectful manner. Her behavior not only soured our experience but also left us feeling cheated and disrespected. In addition to her unprofessional demeanor, the refusal to provide a refund despite our valid reasons for not checking in further highlights the lack of integrity within the management team. It is unacceptable for a property to take payment for services they fail to deliver. I would strongly advise against engaging with this company and its management team. Their incompetence, rudeness, and dishonesty make for an entirely unpleasant and regrettable experience.

Very disappointing experience. The property was very dirty and had clearly had not been cleaned since the previous guest’s stay. Black mould had built up around the windows and the exterior bedroom window was covered with a thick film of dirt. The manner in which the situation was handled by the owner/property manager was intolerant, defensive and lacked all courtesy. With no tangible solution offered we were left with no choice but to find alternative accommodation at the last minute. No refund was offered for failure to deliver clean accommodation, a basic requirement which in all decency should not be denied or compensated for, especially given the price.
The experience has left a very bad taste and as such am now wary of booking accommodation without prior recommendation.

I stayed at nine potter hill which was a lovely cosy cottage. Everything you need is provided. In a central location, making it easy to wander around Pickering and explore Yorkshire. Very clean and great attention to detail. I had a lovely stay here and would definitely return. Highly recommend.

It was absolutely spotless could not fault it in any way and hamper was such a lovely touch so welcoming perfect company to use and will definitely be staying again will also try other properties they have as I no they will be as the same quality/perfection as it’s one
