Having read the reviews we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel on the banks of the river Thames.
We arrived early evening and were checked in by an efficient but not particularly welcoming gentleman at reception who clearly didn't want to be there. We were directed to our room which was very pleasant, not particularly stylish, but well decorated, clean and comfortable with a big comfy bed.
As it was boxing day the Dinner wasn't available but a short walk took us to a lovely curry house. However we did enjoy a very tasty full English breakfast served with a smile at the Warren lodge, which I would recommend booking with your room.
Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely use it again.

We booked into the Warren Lodge for one night in order to attend a family party within walking distance.||I was a little concerned by some of the reviews. For those similarly concerned, I will start by saying that I would happily stay there again.||We arrived and parked in the private car park immediately adjacent.||We were greeted by David, immaculately dressed and jolly, on Reception.||The hotel is somewhat of a rabbit warren; we were in Room 10 in the modern wing to the rear. Twin beds and shower.|Modern key cylinder but operating old simple Yale style lock inside.||We had some difficulty extracting the key, then latched the lock down whilst we unloaded from the car.||When finished we could not release the latch, i.e. lock the door. David came along and got it to release by jiggling the key outside.||When next we attempted to leave the room, we could not get the lock to turn – we were locked in !||We telephoned David who came and rescued us, most concerned and cheerful.||It was agreed that we should swap rooms, and we moved to Room 13, Kingsize bed and bath (and patio door with view onto Thames)||All done willingly and with no fuss.||Thereafter all worked fine, we returned about midnight and had a comfortable night. Full English breakfast (extra) was good and waiter served.||Regarding same of the criticisms. The bathroom was shining clean, better than our own. The room had not been modernised a la Warners, but was workable. Sure there was a chip in the bath enamel, and some stains on the carpet, but no smells at all.||The old, front part of the hotel is most interesting – read β€œAbout us” in the β€œHome” section of their website,||So you get an oldish style room as part of a very old building which could take extensive modernising, but is perfectly OK as is.|But you also get to stay smack bang on the Thames, with a pleasant patio and garden facing it, some history and very pleasant staff. Parking and easy access.||But you mainly get high value for money. You pay significantly less that a third of the price of a room in the Petersham with a distant view of the river, and significantly less than half of the price of the Richmond Hill. I name these only because I used to stay in both quite frequently.||OK – you might go for a Premier Inn – but they tend to be soulless, useful though they can be. This place has character. Also proper hotel facilities like a bar, lounge and resturant.||Hope it works for you !

We stayed at Warren Lodge on the 23rd November 2024. Our party consisted of two adults and two Children (13, 15). We had two rooms which were spacious and very warm. Both rooms had views of the Thames which was lovely. The facilities were good especially the showers which were very hot and powerful.

We were welcomed by the manager who was very friendly. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and we are looking forward to staying there again in the future.

Thanks again.

Stayed last night, room was clean, bathroom spotless and bed very comfy. Bit dated and tired but a cosy hotel. Had full English breakfast for Β£14, plus you could
also have anything from the continental range too. Both hotel and breakfast are very good value for money. Would stay there again.

Arrived at the hotel early evening after a 3.5hr journey, didn't get a warm welcome, they were more interested in getting my payment for the room. What then told the restuarant was closed. When asked about other places to eat was told they didn't come from the area and they think there is a restuarant a short walk away. Got to room which was large but very unwelcoming. The following night we ordered food at the hotel restuarant, my husband had steak which he asked for medium to well done and it came out rare, his peppercorn sauce had fat floating around the top and his plate was swimming in grease I ordered chicken curry which was awful and I couldn't eat it and when I said it was awful they didn't ask why, it was just taken away. I was asked if I wanted something else but I declined and I did not pay for the curry.
When we checked out the following morning we wasn't asked if we had enjoyed our stay, they just took the key. The hotel could really be amazing. It has a great location, however it lacks any kind of atmosphere. We were the only people in the restuatsnt on a Saturday evening. I would not stay here again. They are only interested in taking your money, in hindsight i would nit have paid the amount they charge to stay there. There is no pleasantries and they do not care if you have had a nice stay or not

The hotel is a little dated and worn, so I had some trepidation when I first arrived. However, my room was very clean and comfortable. All the usual amenities. Breakfast was available but I didn’t take it. The only thing I would say is that the rooms are very close together And the doors are quite loud. I was fortunate in that I did not have noisy neighbours but I would imagine if you had people coming and going a lot it would be very irritating.

We absolutely loved our stay here, had one of the riverside rooms with deck out to the riverside. Room was maybe very slightly dated and windows hard to close over, but overall it was a well appointed room. The location was incredibly good, and staff were very hospitable and helpful indeed. Breakfast also was delicious. I would have no hesitation in booking here again on a repeat trip.

The room was ok, the bed comfortable. There were some decorative and plumbing issues and noise travel from other rooms.
The location is beautiful being near Towpath. A bonus was it isn't in a ULEZ zone and there was some free parking outside.
The waiting service was friendly and helpful.
The vegan breakfast was tasty.
