We were welcomed very warmly by the reception team. They went all out to make sure we were happy. The caravan was superb. Spotlessly clean and very inviting. Our holiday was absolutely great. Can't wait till June and our next visit. A big thank you to all the teams at Carlton Meres. Looking forward to seeing you all again.

Brilliant place to stay and really friendly helpful staff. We came for a weekend in December and stayed in a gold plus caravan. It was nice and clean. Even though the site was quiet we had a lovely few days. we got takeaway from the restaurant onsite which was lovely and my husband and son loved fishing on the lake.

I emailed ahead of stay to inform of my son’s allergies as was concerned that some of the reviews state how dirty caravans were, I got a reply assuring me these were one off. We arrived and the cleaners outside said “I’ve told them about ur carpets they are really bad and need a clean so they will come and do this” she was right they were awful! I checked again that this was going to happen with the check in lady who said she will look into it!! |We went out and came back to caravan at 9pm and it hadnt been cleaned! 🤢😡On further inspection, there was disgusting loose grime in the shower tray edge, cups with lipstick on, glssses in cupboards still with drink in, cutlery with food on, stains on floors, no toilet roll at all, no washing up liquid, sponge or cloths, when we pulled out the bed there were crisp packets, and food in the bed! There was no one around to speak to at this time so we had to dose our son up with precautionary meds incase he reacted to any of the dirt/germs on the caravan! We went to reception the next morning, a lovely lady was very apologetic and sorted a cleaner to go in and a voucher for food! |It got cleaned but I wouldn’t say it was of a good standard! |There was a huge family (at least 50 members) staying in a number of caravans who were up making terrible noise until 2-3 am keeping us all awake but nothing was said! |We went to eat in the restaurant Sunday afternoon the food took an hour to arrive and most was cold, some was replaced and free desserts were offered! Hot drinks machine was broken as apparently was the speaker on the tv for the football! On arriving back to our caravan after this terrible food we saw the large family had all gathered to one caravan along from ours for what seemed like a bbq/party, on seeing this we knew it was going to be another sleepless night and also made us feel quite intimidated, so we packed our stuff and left a day early! We will not return!!

Liked: The beautiful and peaceful area makes you forget the city's busy vibes.
The glamping pods, while not overly spacious, are designed with simple yet functional furniture. They are adept at keeping the noise out, ensuring a peaceful stay for a few days. It feels safe and it's a short drive to the surrounding towns and seaside, with plenty of trip opportunities.

Disliked: Despite the two pools, play areas, a mini-golf course, and entertainment, the holiday park is aimed at older people who like peace while fishing or for families with more minor children. Our teenagers were a bit bored.
The restaurant at the park offers a diverse menu catering to various tastes. However, the average waiting time for dinner was more than an hour, and the food quality was not up to our expectations.
Online, we learned that BBQs were allowed but not campfires; however, another glamper has had a fire on for at least two consecutive nights, and no one has stopped them.
The lowest point for us was the facilities. We had to call the reception daily, as there was no hot water in the showers and only one working toilet in the male section. The water issue was fixed on two out of four calls.
The toilets and showers were not cleaned frequently, resulting in a dirty place with no toilet paper.

The platinum caravan was spotlessly clean great furnishings, worth getting a decking adds the feeling of space. The mattress was a little soft for us but the bedroom space and on suite toilet made up for it. All the staff was very helpful. Lots of things to do for days out and good food. Would return.

Amazing place to stay, visited four times now. Emma and staff very welcoming. Always on hand and quick to respond if any problems occur. Well kept site, best we have been to. We will deafinitely be returning in the future. So if you need a relaxing place to stay, this is a must.

Liked: The camping pod was extremely clean, and bigger in real life than we expected. The view by the lake was beautiful and it was so peaceful. We could not hear other people from our pod. The swimming pool and arcades were great for the kids, we had no problem booking the swimming! The site itself is very clean and tidy, we have been to a lot of holiday parks and this was the best in terms of cleanliness.

Disliked: Food at the restaurant was very overpriced for the quality and our order was wrong every time we got our food. The shop on site is very basic!

Liked: Fantastic site, we all had a wonderful time. The pods were lovely although a little warm so it is advisable to bring a fan with you as this is not supplied. There were two ponds for fishing ( you will need a permit to fish) a lovely play park for the kids to burn off some steam and a clubhouse. The pool was nice, you do need to book on arrival. And the gym was a good touch. Lovely site and loads areas to walk the dog aswel. Would definitely come back again.

Disliked: Down side to our trip which was a little out of the sites control was the mens toilets and showers were out of use. With the amount of pods they have it was difficult to share only 3 toilets with both men and women as often found there was a que.
