On June 14th at 14:45, I had a near-death experience due to an angry and unprofessional driver. He flashed his full beam at me, threw a water bottle at my car, and tried to block me when I moved onto the hard shoulder. When I approached him to discuss the situation, I discovered he had passengers and he tried to swing at me to box me in. All of this happened because I signaled and merged into his lane.

I was scammed and mis-sold by shearings. They took my money and provided a very different experience to what they sold me on. We were stuck on a coach for over 36 hours. No toilets no resting no nothing.... The coaches were old, ill equip, with rude drivers who clearly smoked with the window cracked for us all to enjoy inside the coach. I paid well over £1,000 for a holiday that I recently found out costs less than £370 inclusive. I tried calling them but they won't return my messages or voicemails. The said we would enjoy a 4 star hotel once there, but instead we had a 2 star hostel like experience at a place that requires a massive amount of steps to get to which isn't funny when you're a senior. I cannot express how bad I feel for being victimised by this company. I wish there would refund me, even half.... It took several years to save for a holiday and they completely scammed me, taking advantage of an older person. Shame on you. Shame!

We have just returned from one of your holidays to Lynton & West Somerset Railway, Devon, booking ref 1058499, 05. July until 09.July.

We are disgusted at the service received at The Valley of the Rocks Hotel, even with the virus conditions, the service and whole holiday was sub standard and certainly not worth the money paid, I suggest that Shearings refunds every person on this trip at least 50% of the cost right away as shearings reputation has been severely tarnished.
We have been on many of your holidays in the past and have never had to complain.

Issues

The journey to and from the Hotel was very long and there were too many pick ups off the required route which made it a very hard journey to endure both ways.

The driver/guide was sub standard, not very friendly and not a people person and not clear English spoken, unlike previous guides in the past who have been excellent.

The hotel was disgusting, community carpet areas not clean, food left about on tables. The service in the dining room was appalling, one had to ask and ask many times for service and we were kept waiting ages for each course . The breakfast was sub standard, cold and the toaster did not work correctly and lacked of choice.

We were well aware that there was not enough staff and saw the adverts for more, but that is not our problem, Shearings should have put us in another Hotel.
The hotel were well aware of their failings.

The tours on this holiday were too short and more could have been incorporated into each day.

I cannot think of anything good to say about this holiday except for the Hotel staff were friendly.

I am shocked that Shearings has been reduced to producing substandard trips like this one and if you do not refund 50% of the cost of the holiday to us then you have lost another customer for the future and the name Shearings will conjure up poor service/quality and I am sure that many more customers on this trip will be complaining to you in due course.
