If you have never heard of the Maunsell Forts l suggest you Google them to find out more and book a boat trip to see them. You will sail on a former Thames pilot vessel out to the Forts and I'm sure Captain Allan will have a chat with anecdotes and stories about them which you will not find in the history books. A unique opportunity that I highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you.

Had a fantastic 'Grand Forts Tour' run by the X-Pilot - Marine A Services Team.

The booking process was simple and managed flawlessly by Martin and his prompt replies. The information he gave was excellent, clear and concise.

Helped a lot by beautiful October weather, the trip out past the SS Richard Montgomery, onto Knock John Fort, back towards Shivering Sands and then Redsands Forts was so worth doing. Seeing these 80 year old remnants of the Second World War up close, is vastly different to the experience of just looking at photos.

The crew on the X-Pilot were all incredibly polite and having Captain Alan come round and talking to us all and sharing his stories and knowledge was great. As an added bonus, we were joined by Bob Le-Roi - a long time broadcaster who once worked as a DJ on the forts - he shared his stories from when he did that, but also his knowledge of all the forts themselves.

Highly recommended tour and with several returning customers onboard, it shows the X-Pilot Team are certainly getting things right.

What a truly amazing experience. I’ve looked out towards the Red Sands Maunsell Forts and the wreck of the Montgomery for years so to take a trip out to see them close up couldn’t be missed. We went on the last planned trip on the 26th Oct. Martin and Captain Alan are true gents, great hosts and very informative. This is must trip and great value for money. We will definitely going again.
