I visited this travel agent to get a no visa required for my new passport. It was hassle-free and I got my passport back after three weeks which they told me in advance. They called me when it was ready to collect. I am not giving 5 stars simply because my friend told me he had issues with a flight ticket refunds during covid and the staff were not very understanding or helpful - though that was not my experience.

The only way I could put this review on is to put a star, however it’s not even worthy of any star. I went to Surma as it was reputable. Few times I called in asking for last minute plans to travel to Bangladesh with family including kids. Each time the gentlemen I spoke to were rude where one said in a tone “go somewhere elsewhere then” However my experience with Surma travel turned worse. So I was talking to a nice chap called Taqfiqu where he was the only one who came across down to earth. However the price he quoted to go Sylhet was quite high so I said let me call back to see if I can get some more money together. After 20 mins I called back and he was gone. I had to persist at the getting to speak to someone about the intended flight was in about 4 days time. Those with family would appreciate it’s not easy especially with kids on any last minute decisions. Nevertheless, I had the misfortune of speaking to a Razaq. He said next day he will confirm to me. I had to chase Razzaq up after giving him missed calls because I needed to know organise things. After managing to reach him he gave me price and said he will hold for me as I gave passport details. I asked he hang on as I was still trying to gather some more money as the tickets were very pricey. Razzaq again reassured me he will hold them. He added though that he will need bank transfer as they get charged for paying by card. I was a bit dubious about that because genuine businesses would not ask that? Next day I called and called and he finally picked up on Friday after Jumma time where he said he just woke up and sarcasticly said tickets were gone. My experience with Surma is very bad. This Razzaq was unprofessional and rude with the typical Bengali sly insulting comments made. This is my experience, you make your own opinions.

Old is gold! One of the longest serving travel agents out there. Travel for 6 to bangladesh was a simple straight forward on Bimans new plane. Simple direct flight helped with young kids.

Ohhhh .... 2011. Tremendous year, when surma travels put us in a hotel in Makkah that was non existent. Still a building site, taxi driver could not find our hotel, got left in the wrong terminal at the airport. As per usual like all these muslim travel agents to be told afterwards, "sabr brother, sabr sabr" and for forgiveness. Asking for forgiveness would have been to give us the money back. If it wasnt for my dad, I would have taken this further and taken legal action. I was pregnant and was staying at a construction site, no front reception (temporary reception was one of the builders). Absolutely, appalling.
