A stop on the Windrush Overground system. Lifts down to the platforms and then it opens into an spacious track edge. The open roof section is into the Watney Plaza area, slightly North of the station entrance. Like the graphics on the walls depicting scenes of local activities. The Trains are on time and are of the through carriage type, so seats can be found in all carriages whilst on the move.

When i came to this station today it was very smelly. On both platforms right at the end there is no roof its open air so all the rain comes on to the platform making it wet / slippery. Lots of water staines on the wall and lights. The platforms are narrow there is lifts from the ticket hall however they only go halfway and then you have to get the stairs up / down to the platforms.

Lot of steps and not so well maintained as many of the others on the London Overground.
Bit dingy and could do with some TLC

Just your standard Overground station primary the interchange for Shadwell (Docklands Light Railway), nothing special to mention, it does its job, nothing more, nothing less.

Getting here via public transport, as mentioned above, Shadwell (Docklands Light Railway) or the local buses, Shadwell Station (Stop A) , 100/D3 or Shadwell Station (Stop D) for the 339.

Trains are generally punctual in these stations. DLR station is fully accessible (when the lifts are working) but the Overground isn’t. Would be great if this could change.

A long way down to the overground with 78 steps, about 2/3rds of which can be done in the lefts. The platforms are quite narrow here too.

Missed the overground train to West Croydon - changing from DLR - the closest Shadwell station entrance is for exit only!
Those coming from the DLR have to walk all around the building to access the trains.
Just some TFL nonsense

Shadwell is busy place. It is well connected with an overground station and a DLR station. Watney market is a predominantly Asian Market and is a short walk from the stations. Although not large is has a good variety of stalls, shops (Fishmongers, butchers, clothes and household).
